Sometimes love finds us young. Tatiana and Devanta first met in the 2nd grade, but they didn’t start dating until they reconnected again in middle school. Their love stayed strong throughout high school and college, and marriage was the natural next step.
To celebrate their engagement, they decided to have a beautiful photo session that gave elegant, English garden vibes. See all of their fabulous photos and learn more about their love story below.

How did you meet?
We met when we were seven years old in the same 2nd-grade class, and we were good friends until he went to another school the next year. We reconnected in 2006 when he came to my middle school and we began dating in 2007.
Tell us your proposal story.
Devanta proposed to me at our senior breakfast in high school. He asked me who I was looking forward to seeing at the breakfast and I named about 5 people, but he was really asking me that so he could have them there during the proposal. It was a very special moment between Devanta and me with our small group of friends.
Describe your engagement session. Did you have a theme?
The theme behind the engagement shoot was a clean, elegant, English garden look accessorized with a flower headpiece. I wanted the theme to be something that was timeless and unique.
What did you do on your first date?
Although we started dating so young, we didn’t have our first official date until we were in college. We went out for lunch, then we went to a recreational campsite and tried paddle boarding for the first time. We just enjoyed our new experience and quality time together.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple?
We love to travel, binge-watch new TV shows, eat/ try new recipes, go to concerts/comedy shows, etc. Our favorite thing to do as a couple is anything new and exciting!
How has wedding planning been so far?
Wedding planning for me has been a very fun experience, it has given me a chance to express myself in ways that I didn’t know that I could. Picking the colors, designs, outfits, flowers, communicating with vendors, it’s all a very tedious process. Wedding planning can also be stressful at times, but I’ve had so much fun while doing it. I’m learning not to worry about making sure everything is perfect, and just enjoy the moment as it’s happening.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day.
I’m looking forward to marrying my best friend and the love of my life. Excluding us, so many people have been looking forward to the day and I can’t wait to celebrate our love with our families and friends.
