Dream Come True: Engagement Session in Lexington, KY

“I think we both kind of knew something was different after the first date. We couldn’t spend enough time together!”

That first date at a concert on a summer evening in Lexington would be the turning point in both Myah & Sam’s lives. Having first met in high school it wasn’t until later on that they would truly connect. The connection of that first date left them feeling as if they “couldn’t spend enough time together! We decided to spend the whole next day together, and the day after that too.” It wasn’t long before Sam was planning their perfect proposal – asking Myah for her hand in marriage the very next year.

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. We met in high school and actually had a few classes together but we never hung out or talked much. We met back up after we were both in Lexington working. Our first date was in October 2016 and we were engaged by June of the next year! We were on a weekend trip to Bloomington, Indiana where Sam went to college. We went on a beautiful tour of the campus where Sam proposed on a quiet gazebo. It was such a special moment.

What did you do on your first date? We ended up going to Thursday Night Live in downtown Lexington, Kentucky which is essentially an outdoor concert that happens weekly during the summer. After the bands were done playing we explored downtown lexington for the rest of the night.

Favorite thing(s) to do as a couple? We try to visit other cities and go to concerts and events whenever we can. We’re also very big fans of pizza buffets and arcades! We’re both giant kids at heart.

Describe your engagement session. Our engagement session was awesome. It was super easy and fun to take pictures with my fiancé. We’ve both done a bit of modeling in the past, but it’s great to be able to shoot together. Our photographer did an amazing job and we couldn’t be happier with the end result!

How did you know they were “the one”? I think we both kind of knew something was different after the first date. We couldn’t spend enough time together! We decided to spend the whole next day together, and the day after that too. Our only regret was waiting so long to finally go out! It only seemed natural for us to spend the rest of our lives together.

How has wedding planning been so far? It has been stressful but exciting. There are a lot of moving parts and I am very particular with what I want. I just cannot wait until everything is planned and I can relax and enjoy the moment.

What are you looking forward to most on the wedding day? Everything! The dress, the beautiful venue, the food, my dearest family and friends! And, of course, having all of my dreams come true by seeing Sam at the end of the aisle waiting for me.
