Featured in MunaLuchi Bride Magazine, Issue 28, this dreamy black & white wedding at The Crystal Ballroom in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is a modern-day fairytale!
Can true love blossom sight unseen?
For Destiny and Eddie, being set up on a blind date by a pair of their friends led to lifelong love! After a year and a half of dating, Eddie popped the question through a cute scavenger hunt with close friends and family incorporating all of the places that had meaning to them.
Their wedding was, in Destiny’s words: “a modern-day fairytale.” The couple’s dreamy black and white-themed nuptials were set in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at the luxurious Crystal Ballroom BeachPlace venue. Designed by Lux Lifestyle Events LLC and captured by REEM Photography, their wedding featured a live violinist, a unique bride and groom photo shoot, and a grand reception room reveal.
“It was just beyond magical,” Destiny shares. “I would not have envisioned our wedding any other way and it was perfect.”

How they met…
We were set up on a blind date by a pair of our friends.
How they knew we found “the one”…
It was effortless!
Their proposal story…
He proposed after a year and a half. The day of the proposal, he set me up on a scavenger hunt to all of the places that had meaning to us, with some of our closest friends and family involved. He even sent his sisters with a dress for me to put on and had a videographer to capture the entire event.
Wedding style…
Black and White Romance.
Cultural elements…
Italian and Dominican.
Favorite wedding day moments…
Everything! The ceremony and walking down the aisle felt like a dream, my now father-in-law being our officiant as he did so graciously, having a live violinist that added a touch of class to the environment and is my favorite instrument, having a photo shoot with my husband while our guests were able to watch, the reception room reveal (as we were quite surprised!), the garter removal since my husband is very entertaining, our candles catching fire and our three guests whom are firefighters running to put it out in standard protocol, eating amazingly delicious food, drinking superb drinks, great times in our photo booth, and dancing the night away with our loved ones.
Wedding dress & groom’s attire…
The dress was made for a queen! It was something I absolutely did not think I would go for. But it is royal, it is a ballgown, princess style. I most definitely thought that I would choose a mermaid style, fit to the figure. But I just knew that my dress was meant for me when I saw it online, and I confirmed it the moment I put it on.
The designer is Vladiyan based out of Ukraine. I purchased the dress from Alegria’s Brides in Miami. My dress was shipped out to me just the week before the war started with Ukraine and Russia! My favorite wedding accessory was my tiara. The dress already made me feel like a queen and my tiara brought the whole look together.
Groom’s suit was designed by Sebastian Couture. Black designer Fiore fabric was woven in France.

On hiring a wedding planner…
We hired Melisa Brown of Lux Lifestyle Events. I have a strong personality; so I needed someone who knew how to work with me, who knew their stuff, and who knew how to get the job done.
Melisa definitely did all of that. She was great. She really went out of her way, anything I ever asked she was always on top of it. If she said she was going to call you back, she called right back. If she didn’t have the answer to your question, she was getting the answer for you. And not to mention her incredible list of vendors.
We went with most of her recommendations on the vendors and they all worked so extremely well together. The wedding planner is always put to the test on the day of the wedding, and Melisa definitely delivered. We were very very happy with our decision to hire her.
Advice for other engaged couples…
Plan ahead and make payments the entire time. We had everything mostly paid off before the deadlines and it reduced so much stress.
Looking to the future…
Our future holds success (we are both highly motivated individuals so together we are unstoppable), a new home that we just built together, a lot of traveling to see the world together, a lot of good food, and children if God is willing.
