When Tieasher set out to build her new home, she had no idea she’d meet the man she would one day build a life with. She was doing business with the company in which Dante was employed when one of his co-workers suggested that she work with her future groom. “During our interaction, we flirted innocently back and forth. I was trying to get the best deal and he was going for the close. I ended up contacting him a couple weeks later and we set up a time to get together on a personal level,” Tieasher shares. It would be two years after the couple met when Dante would ask Tieasher to be his wife and build something only the two would be able to describe.
The couple’s fun and elegant engagement session was shot by Coterie member Keith Cephus Photography at both the Hermitage Museum and the Tazewell Hotel in Norfolk, Virginia.

Tell us all about the proposal!
Thanksgiving Day of 2014 is when he popped the question and I was truly surprised. We had talked about getting married of course, but I had no idea he was going to propose this day. In the company of his family it was his turn to say what he was thankful for. He proceeded to speak about how much I meant to him and then dropped to one knee! Everyone was shocked and full of joy. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
What did you do on your first date?
For our first date I decided to exercise my exquisite mastery of the culinary arts lol. I prepared his favorite home cooked meal for him. That evening was spent enjoying laughs and great conversation. It felt as if we had known each other for quite some time.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple?
We are both fans of architecture and interior design. One of our favorite things to do is to take afternoon drives admiring homes and visiting furniture stores.
Tell us a little about your engagement session
Our engagement session was challenging to say the least. The day we scheduled turned out to be one of the hottest days of 2015. We are thankful for the enthusiasm and professionalism of our photographer KeithCephus. He kept us motivated and positive throughout the experience. We love the photos and we attribute the results to his passion and vision to see us through.
How has wedding planning been so far?
Wedding planning has been adventurous. Planning a wedding in the Bahamas, while living in the U.S. presents a unique set of challenges. I am a native of the Bahamas and all of my family and many of my friends are back home. This makes collaborating and coordinating with my bridal party, the venue, and vendors difficult at times. I am so thankful that Dante has been by my side throughout this process. He has not only been my fiancé, but my wedding planner, style consultant, therapist, punching bag, but most importantly my confidant.
What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?
We are so excited for the big day to arrive. Having our families and friends there to share in this moment is truly a blessing. I look forward to continuing on this journey with the man God has made and kept for me!
