When Fatima, a Pre-Kindergarten Teacher’s Assistant went to an ice skating rink with friends, she had no idea that her future husband, Michael, a Developmental Engineer 2nd Lieutenant United States Air Force, would melt her heart just moments before she made her exit. Together, the happy couple made an elegant entrance into the All Saints Chapel in Raleigh, North Carolina as they prepared to say, “I do.”

Tell us about how you met and all about the proposal!
We met at an ice skating rink on Fort Bragg in our hometown of Fayetteville! I knew a friend of his and at the end of the night, he ran up to my car to introduce himself. When Mikey was ready to propose, he worked with my best friends to plan a scavenger hunt that started with a Christmas parade and continued with a manicure, a group lunch, picking out an outfit and getting my hair done! Then my friends blindfolded me and we ended up at the NCSU (our Alma Mater) bell tower where my little brother escorted me to Michael! He proposed in front of all of my friends and family!
Wedding Style
The inspiration for our wedding style was built from our vision of wanting an elegant and classy event. We met with our wedding planner and only had about four months to plan the wedding because Michael is in the Air Force and we found out with little notice that he was getting stationed to Ohio. At that time, the only thing we had prepared for the wedding was my wedding dress being ordered. We cannot thank the Creative Touch team enough for helping make our dream wedding a reality.
Memories
My favorite memory would have to be reading our wedding vows to one another, because it was during this time that Michael and I could truly express our love for one another and the life we promise to make together.
Help a bride-to-be out!
If I had to give one piece of advice to brides-to-be it would be to communicate with your fiance. I know that most of the time it is the bride that does the planning but honestly communicating with Michael and having him there with vendor appointments was amazing. Since, Michael was there through the entire wedding planning, it made the big day more special because we got to see what we created together come to life.
