Shaquita was fixing up her resume, on the hunt for a better career path when she ended up meeting the love of her life. After courting for some time, Quita and Jeremiah held quite a classic Atlanta affair at the historic Macy’s building, now 200 Peachtree. The grand ballroom set the stage for the most beautiful elegant purple wedding.

Tell us about how you met and all about the proposal!
We met through a family member. I was seeking help on building my resume and entering Corporate America while he was already on his career path in information systems. He helped with my resume and ended up becoming my number one reference, my husband.
We are very laid back individuals so our proposal was very intimate and sweet. I remember being at home doing work at my desk and Jeremiah coming up to me, getting on one knee and asking me to marry him. Me being caught totally off guard, thought he was just fooling around but giggles quickly turned into tears as he opened a jewelry box and pulled out the most beautiful ring and put it on my hand.
Wedding Style
Our wedding style was very classy yet edgy. We were married at the most amazing venue, 200 Peachtree Street in Atlanta that houses the most gorgeous chandeliers and floor plan. My wedding dress was everything I wanted all in one and designed by Kitty Chen. I wore a white gown that had a sweetheart neckline and open heart back. The body style was fit and flare to fit an hour glass body shape. My dress was the perfect mix of lace and sparkles adorned with a gorgeous bottom of floral patterns. It also included a beaded back that started at my waist and trailed all the way to the end of my dress.
Wedding shopping believe it or not was not stressful at all. I visited maybe 3-4 stores and found the dress of my dreams at the last little boutique shop in Roswell, GA. I enjoyed how the staff allowed me to try on all sorts of dress types and shapes to ensure I was in love with my first pick (which I ended up passing on). I was head over heels for a dress I saw online called the “Tiana” and loved it on…however upon trying on multiple dresses, I ended up head over heels for the “Portia.” It fit everything about my style and personality.
Memories
The best memory of my wedding was during our photo session towards the end. Our wedding party was allowed to go out on the most popular street in Atlanta (Peachtree) and basically stop traffic to take photos in the middle of the street because the night truly belonged to us and we owned it!
