On Lauren and Jonathan’s wedding day, simplicity was the name of the game. They’d both attended the University of Texas so it was only fitting that they said their “I do’s” in the Lone Star state. Hacienda del Lago Volente in Austin served as the backdrop for the elegant affair. Aged trees stood tall lending the perfect mossy green hues to compliment the bride’s beautifully subtle style. Coterie member Events Unleashed captured the essence of the couple, combining modern and simple elements to create a wedding that can only be described as exquisite. Sean Berry of A Guy and A Girl Weddings captured the images of Lauren and Jonathan’s elegant rustic wedding.

About the proposal
After almost 4 years of dating (including 3 years of long distance when Jonathan moved from Texas to Illinois after college) Jonathan asked Lauren to meet him in Austin for a “special event” he was speaking at. He had her meet him for lunch across the street from their favorite bakery, Sugar Mama’s Bakeshop, where they had celebrated many milestones. Before ordering lunch, he walked her over to Sugar Mama’s to “see what their specials were for the day.” It was there that he got on one knee and asked for her hand, in the company of both of their parents who had made the trip down to Austin to surprise her for the proposal.
Describe your wedding dress style and tell us what your favorite accessory was.
Simple, modern, and elegant. I’m very petite so I didn’t want anything that would overwhelm my frame. My favorite accessory is a custom made upper arm cuff I ordered on Etsy.
What advice would you give to our brides-to-be?
Enjoy the moment. Have open and honest conversations about the budget with all parties prior to planning because every family has different expectations and traditions. Lastly, do not feel obligated to do anything out of guilt or because it’s “tradition”. It’s yall’s day, so make it whatever you want it to be!
Congratulations to this extraordinary couple! We love the elegance and simplicity of this wedding.
