Tell us about how you met and all about the proposal. Our story began when we were kids. Our families have known each other for years so we probably met when we were five or six but we don’t remember. We weren’t very close growing up but when we saw each other we would say hi and talk. It wasn’t until after we graduated high school that Prince decided to ask me out on a date. It was right after church, I was sitting down and he came up to me and told me I was going to be his wife and that we should hang out. I told him no. Anyone who knows Prince knows that he likes it when people tell him no. He thought it was a challenge but I just didn’t want to hang out with him. One day I gave in and I’m glad that I did because it’s been the most amazing six years of my life. He Proposed on September 4, 2016 when I came to visit him in Santa Clara. He took me out to dinner and then we went to this beautiful park where he got down on one knee and proposed. Of course, I said yes!
Describe your engagement session. We didn’t really have a theme going into our engagement session. We just wanted something formal and nice. We knew a casual shoot just wasn’t for us.
What did you do on your first date? He took me to church on our first date. We were very young and we didn’t want anyone to know we were dating. We went to church at a different time than usual and then we went out to eat at Panera Bread. Back then he thought Panera Bread was fancy and nice, so that’s where he decided to take me. We hated it and have never gone back to this day.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? We love to watch power and college football.
How has wedding planning been so far? Wedding planning has been a bit stressful but fun. We’re having a huge Nigerian wedding and its starting to get a little overwhelming.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day. We’re just looking forward to being husband and wife and simply having a great time with our family and friends.
