Weddings are an occasion that brings everyone together in celebration of love. For Tatiana and Iago, it would also be the place from which their own love first began. Seven years prior to that life changing moment, fate was already setting the wheels in the motion. While Tatiana and Iago were studying as students abroad, she in the Netherlands, and he in Slovakia, they befriend the very people whose future wedding would bring them together. It was during the wedding rehearsal dinner in Istanbul, Turkey, where when first introduced an immediate, palpable attraction could be felt in the air between them. That magnetism sparked a passionate curiosity, giving way to friendship at first, followed soon by affection and then love. Considering the distance and language barriers between them it all seemed so unrealistic, but they soon realized the feelings they shared were greater than any roadblock – their hearts knowing already they were meant to be…
Bride & Groom: Tatiana & Iago
Wedding Location: Galicia, Spain
Wedding Date: September 2nd 2018

Knowing he had found the one from their first introduction, Iago dreamt about how he would one day propose, until that day finally came. Tatiana, having just arrived from the airport, rushed into Iago’s arms, reuniting once again with relief after the time apart. Enjoying a glass of wine at home, they exchanged their usual gifts, only the gift for Tatiana was anything but usual. Like revealing a nesting doll, Iago had playfully seated a ring box within numerous other larger boxes, each containing the next. After reaching the final box, Tatiana opened it to find the ring that would symbolically represent their union. Getting down on one knee, Iago looked into the eyes of his soulmate and asked her to spend the rest of their lives together as husband and wife.
Tatiana and Iago’s eclectic wedding incorporated all the styles that best represent them as a couple; classic romance with a modern edge, a sprinkle of vintage, and a dash of luxury – culminating into a gorgeous one-of-kind event in Galicia, Spain. Tatiana was stunning in a Berta inspired dress, long-sleeved with a plunge neckline, multiple lace layers, and champagne undertones. Surrounded by one-hundred twenty of their closest friends and family arriving from thirty different countries, Tatiana and Iago were joined, forever together, as husband and wife.
Best Memories: Super hard to pick one! We think that the pre-wedding was one of the most fun days. We surprised our guests with a boat ride around Vigo and it was a perfect day. It was sunny, stress-free and a great time to talk with everyone and for everyone to get to know each other. Also, the first look was super special. Seeing each other for the first time and having that moment of peace and intimacy was so priceless and romantic.
Advice for Engaged Couples: Create your own rules. We did not want to stress out with protocol and traditions. We did not invite our parents’ friends out of commitment…none of that.
Everything we did was to make sure we had an amazing day celebrating love with our loved ones. We didn’t have a bridal party or even wedding cake…at the end of the day people will remember if they had fun and ate yummy food. Also, like everyone says, the day goes by fast, don’t waste a second worrying about anything the day of. All you have to do is enjoy. We hired a planner to make sure we did not have to worry about thing. Our work was done three days before the wedding.
