Just a few days before Valentine’s Day, Kimber was surprised with a day long scavenger hunt from Moziah which led to quite a grand proposal! Their winter engagement led to a lovely fall wedding, in front of a host of family and friends, in the beautiful city of Atlanta.

Tell us all about the proposal!
It all began February 8th in NYC. It was bitterly cold and my roommate was bothering me to get up early. Of course I didn’t want to but I was oh so glad I did.
I finally got out of bed and opened my bedroom door and immediately was compelled to look down. On our hallway floor were wooden blocks spelling “WILL” covered in rose petals and a self addressed letter to myself. I immediately screamed my roommate’s name and began crying. She came running out and was in shock just like I was (so I thought). I opened the letter and began reading. My fiance was taking me on a scavenger hunt through NYC to get my ring. I was sent to get a manicure, pedicure, and breakfast before returning home to receive my next clue. I did as the letter ordered me. All while calling everyone I knew with excitement.
When I returned home, at the bottom of my steps were wooden blocks spelling “YOU” covered with rose petals and another letter addressed to me. This letter sent me upstairs for a dress and everything I would need to get ready for the day. I was told to call a cab and take it to the Milford Hotel in Times Square. While in the cab all I could do was cry and just smile. I was so excited.
I arrived at the hotel and the mentioned my name to the concierge. They gave me my room key and said, “Congrats.” As I approached the hotel door, there was a wine opener outside. When I opened the door, I saw a heart shaped rose petal with the word “MARRY” in wood blocks with another letter. The letter told me to enjoy the hotel room and wine waiting for me as there would be a car waiting for me downstairs at at specific time.
The car picked me up and took me to my next location which was the Gansevort Hotel in the Meatpacking District. A gentlemen opened my door and told me to go up to the rooftop. As soon as the elevator doors opened to the rooftop, there he was standing there holding the “ME?” blocks. I immediately ran up to hug him and then he asked that important question, “Will you marry me?”
After all the kissing and hugging and me crying, he led me to a couch with some champagne and told me to sit down, facing in a way where my back was turned. Next thing I know, all I hear is screams and it’s all my bridesmaids and family coming from behind the door. They all were in on it the whole time and kept it a secret from me for months. My roommate actually set up the first “WILL” while I was asleep in the middle of the night. It was a great day!
Wedding shopping was such an amazing time. I had my closest family surrounding me. My father and sister drove from Savannah, GA to Atlanta just to go wedding shopping with me. In total, I had my mother, father, both sisters, and best friend present in picking my dream dress. Before arriving at Winnie Couture, I was pretty set on the dress I wanted. It was a sweetheart form fitting mermaid style dress called Esme.
Everyone enjoyed a glass of champagne while I tried on my first dress, which happened to be the dress I saw online that stole my heart. Immediately, once I came from behind the curtain, all you could hear were gasps! The dress was gorgeous. My father gave the father approval and gave me a long endearing hug. My mother just knew it was perfect and my sisters were full of glee, cheering. My best friend was snapping pictures the whole time. To make the dress process fun, we decided to rate each dress one to five, one being the least liked and five being the most liked. My first dress received all fives. I tried on other dresses and accessories for fun and to be sure I wasn’t missing out on anything. The day was filled with so much excitement and relief. I had found the perfect dress!
Our wedding talk given by my uncle was my best memory of my wedding. His talk gave specific instruction for the husband and wife under God’s order. We remember some of those key points down to this day in our marriage and often bring it up when we reminisce about the wedding day.
You can do it without a wedding planner however, make sure you delegate so you can keep your sanity and enjoy this moment. Also, don’t stop dating your mate during this process. You may be strapped for funds but it’s the little things that will keep the love vibrant. Planning a wedding can become all business after a while if you don’t take time out for each other romantically.
