Nicol and McArthur’s enchanting garden wedding at River Farm celebrated love, family, friends, and nature!
Both looking for companionship, Nicol and McArthur first met online. They hit it off immediately during their first text conversation and talked for hours on the phone. After weeks of chatting online and having lovely conversations, they went on their first date where they enjoyed good food and even better company. Since the beginning, there hasn’t been a dull moment between the couple.
Since we met, every day is pretty much like our first date…

McArthur proposed to Nicol, not only once, but twice! The first was a sweet proposal in the driveway of their home. The second was during the couple’s vacation on a romantic sunset cruise in Maui. Both proposals were very meaningful to Nicol.
Both times, Mac got on his knee to propose and each time, I felt very special…

Quick Facts:
- First dance song: Our first dance song was “At Last” by Etta James. It’s a timeless classic that holds a special meaning for us. The lyrics perfectly capture the feeling of finding true love and the joy of finally being together. As we danced to the soulful melody, surrounded by our loved ones, it was a truly magical moment that we’ll cherish forever.
How did you meet?
We met online, yeah, really! We were both looking for companionship and went online because that’s what other people told us to do. McArthur’s profile stated that he was looking for a soulmate. I just asked that the person should be over six feet. We hit it off on our first text chat and stayed on the phone for hours talking about everything because we both love to talk!
Weeks of online chatting and texting soon led to the first date where we indulged in buffalo wings and French onion soup. Our second date was watching the NBA playoffs at a local eatery. Since we met, every day is pretty much like our first date. We are still eating, watching sports, talking politics, and enjoying life one day at a time!
Not one, but two proposals…
We actually had two proposals. One was in our driveway at home a couple of days before we went to Hawaii, and the other was on a sunset cruise in Maui, which was absolutely beautiful. Both times, Mac got on his knee to propose and each time, I felt very special. But if you know McArthur, you’d know that the first proposal was done in his painter’s pants and work shirt.
Wedding style:
For our wedding attire, I wore a stunning dress that captured the essence of elegance and romance. The dress beautifully complemented the wedding colors of blush and navy blue. McArthur looked dashing in a tailored navy blue suit that perfectly matched the color scheme. We wanted our attire to reflect both our individual styles and the overall theme of the wedding, creating a cohesive and stylish look for our special day.
What is your best memory from your wedding day?
Oh, there are so many incredible memories from our wedding day! One of the standout moments for us was when we exchanged our vows surrounded by flowers overlooking the picturesque gardens at River Farm. The weather was perfect, the sun was shining, and we could feel the love and support of our friends and family surrounding us. It was an incredibly emotional and joyous moment as we made our promises to each other, and we’ll always cherish that memory of declaring our love in such a stunning natural setting.
