Lauren Curtis, a pharmacist and Richard Lucas, a project manager met in middle school. It wasn’t until meeting again after college briefly and then reconnecting a few years later that the two began to form a friendship. Their friendship blossomed into a relationship that was later challenged by geographical career reassignments.
“Prior to a reassignment out of state, Rick invited me to dinner at an exceptional resort-like restaurant. After dinner, Rick tricked me into viewing one of the guest rooms associated with the hotel, where he revealed the room was ours for the weekend. After a bubble bath, champagne, and chocolate-covered strawberries, Rick came to my side and got on one knee. Further, he planned spa events for the both of us to complete our stay.”
Wedding Date: October 11, 2014
Favorite Accessory: The diamond studded veil with silver trim.
First Dance Song: “You and I (Nobody in the World)” by John Legend
Favorite Memory:
My favorite memory from our beautiful wedding was the new couple announcement at the reception opening. A combination of excited family and friends, hype music, and a dancing, very-excited bride and groom made everyone erupt into cheers and ‘aye!’s. Some guests were even dancing on the dance floor, already in celebratory mode, as we made our way into the ballroom. Having so much love and happiness in those moments makes that memory so memorable.
Favorite Item on the Menu: “Our entrees were magnificent! Guests chose between salmon and angus steak cuts, both were amazing! Our cake was also a hit. Our wedding cake had elegant white icing, with fun-fetti flavoring on the inside. Guests chose between fun-fetti, strawberry, and red velvet cakes.”
Help a bride-to-be out!
Invest in a wedding planner! Our wedding planner was such a blessing, removing stress from planning and helping to reduce costs in ways that non-planners (such as myself) are not aware of. Having someone know your vision and helping you achieve it will ensure that everything gets done well and on-time, without you having to be on an additional alert to complete them. There is so much to be done!
