All it took was a New Years’ Eve Celebration and a phone call, and after nearly 14 years apart, a romance began to reveal itself.
Having known each other since high school, the once disconnected pair found themselves back in each other’s life. Reconnecting through various date nights and vacations, Frank and Helen grew more and more in tune with one another. Wanting to capture what they felt reflected them the most, they chose a simple engagement session that would highlight the only thing that mattered to them – their unconditional love.

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal: Frank and I have known each other since high school. Although we did not date, we hung around the same circle of friends. After graduating high school, we went our separate ways but reunited 14 years when I reached out to Frank stating that I would be in the area for a New Years’ Eve Party. We connected after the party and now we are getting married. Frank proposed to me on a beautiful sandy beach located in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Describe your engagement session. Did you have a theme? Although we didn’t have a theme, our engagement session was fun, filled with laughter and all-around a great experience. Chip Dizard is an amazing photographer that captured shots that we weren’t expecting. We enjoyed every moment.
What did you do on your first date? On our first date, we toured Washington, D.C.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? As a couple, we love having date night and going on lots of vacations.
How has wedding planning been so far? The wedding planning hasn’t been too bad. The biggest challenge was finding a venue that we both liked. Beyond that, Frank and I made a decision that June 6, 2020, will be about us.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day. For our wedding day, we’re looking for our vision to come alive. In addition, we are looking to celebrate our unity with family and friends.
