Happy Valentine’s Day! We’ve been dying to share this sweet love story since we received this submission from the amazing Eliana Baucicault of ellyB Events. She did an outstanding job on the planning and details for this gorgeous Atlanta wedding. The video trailer was perfectly executed by Ryan Rodinis of Rodinis Films. The couple, Erika + Leroy, met at Meharry Medical College while in Dental School. We just LOVE the way Leroy proposed. Here’s how Erika described it,
“He proposed to me on Christmas Day 2009. We flew to Indiana on Christmas morning to celebrate with my family. I was a little sad because my sister and niece were not going to be able to come to Indy from California because they didn’t have the money. When we get to Indiana we check into our hotel and relax before meeting up with my family. At the hotel, we exchanged our Christmas gifts with each other. Leroy gave me a new digital camera. I began to charge the battery so I would be able to take family photos a little later. When it was time to meet up with my family, the battery to my new camera was still not fully charged. Leroy told me I could finish charging the camera at my cousin’s house and he would bring his camera as a back up. When we get out of the car at my cousin’s house, I hear someone yell from a car passing by. Initially, I didn’t recognize the voice, but then I see two people hop out of the car and it was my sister and my niece. I was so SHOCKED to see them that I began to cry. I was certain this was my additional Christmas gift… Later that evening Leroy gives me my camera and tells me the battery was now working. I began to take pictures and once I began to view the pictures I had taken I was totally blown away!!! The first photo was a picture of a diamond ring. The second picture was a T-shirt that said “Future Mrs. Venn.” I began to scream!!! At that moment my wonderful boyfriend got down on one knee in front of my entire family and asked me to marry him. I said YES!!!!”

What wedding planning advice do you have for current brides? “Planning a wedding can be an exciting yet very stressful time between you and your fiance. But in the end you will both look back on everything to find it was all worth it. Make sure to take the time to soak in every minute of that day because it goes by quickly. Make sure your day is everything you want it to be because you will relive those moments each day in your heart and in your mind.” -Erika + Leroy
