How did you meet? We met at church! We were both on a volunteer team, planning a back-to-school giveaway for the local elementary school.
Tell us your proposal story: Damola planned the entire event. He had already asked my father for my hand in marriage and he designed the most beautiful oval-cut halo engagement ring. He whisked me away to the four seasons in fells-point Baltimore for a romantic weekend. Unbeknownst to me he had staged an elaborate proposal at the Bygone restaurant on the very top of the four seasons hotel in Baltimore. We had the most romantic view on the 29th floor. After our meal, our attendant brought dessert and Damola pretended to go the bathroom and turned to where I was seated and got on one knee. The words “will you marry me?” were written in chocolate. The dessert was adorned with edible gold ornaments. Needless to say, I was speechless.
Describe your engagement session. Damola is a US Navy veteran. So, we wanted to incorporate some themes to honor his service in the Navy. We had a few shots in his navy cammies and some more formal shots which paid homage to “our spot” – the Four seasons Hotel Baltimore. As well as the bygone restaurant where we got engaged.
What did you do on your first date? We had ice cream at Ben and Jerry’s! He had the Mint chocolate flavor and I had the Cookies and Cream. It was the perfect first date!
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? We really love to travel together.
How has wedding planning been so far? Its honestly been quite great. We enjoy making the decisions together.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day. Saying I DO! It is such a huge declaration for both of us and we are very excited to do it…and in front of our friends.
