Exclusive Destination Wedding in the Hills of Tuscany

Ti and Patrick said “I do!” at their exclusive destination wedding in their favorite destination: Italy!

Both lawyers, Ti and Patrick first met each other through work. Following a sweet romance-filled courtship, the time came for them to take their relationship to the next level.

On their last morning while on vacation in Tuscany, Italy, Patrick proposed at the most perfect moment. As they were admiring the coastline, he got down on one knee and asked Ti to marry him.

I was overjoyed, tearful, and absolutely blown away by the ring! It was just Patrick and me in the most beautiful location – magical.

• Gifts for bridesmaids & groomsmen: I gave my bridesmaids pretty hair pins and hand-made hankies in case they cried. Patrick gave his best man a lovely hip flask.
• Gifts for one another: Patrick gave me a stunning bracelet and a silver sixpence (to put in my shoe!). I gave Patrick an adventure photo album that captured some of our best moments leading up to our wedding.

How did you meet?

We met at work.

Tell us about the proposal.

We were staying at a beautiful hotel in Tuscany – Hotel Il Pellicano – as part of a 3-week trip around Italy. On our last morning, Patrick wanted us to enjoy the view of the coastline. It was around 8 am. I’m not usually a morning person but for some reason, that morning I was energized. Just as we were about to settle onto our sunbeds, Patrick got down on one knee and told me how much he loved me. Then he asked me to be his wife. I was overjoyed, tearful, and absolutely blown away by the ring! It was just Patrick and me in the most beautiful location – magical.

What was the wedding shopping experience like for you?

I wore a custom-made dress by Galia Lahav. I enjoyed the wedding shopping experience – the key for me was not to get too overwhelmed. And I had a glass of champagne at every dress fitting!

Did you incorporate any culture into the wedding?

Patrick is English and I’m Nigerian. Although we got married in Italy, it was important to us that our respective cultures were represented. At our pre-wedding event, Patrick and I wore matching Nigerian outfits. Also, as part of our wedding ceremony, we had a praise & worship session where we sang Nigerian praise songs to God. It was so important to my family and me that we could express our happiness and gratitude in the way we would do if we were having a typical Nigerian wedding. Patrick rode into the wedding ceremony in style – very James Bond!

What is your best memory from your wedding?

For Ti: Patrick and I dancing to “Fireworks” by Katie Perry during our fireworks display. I remember feeling so happy and free. We were overjoyed by the love from friends and family and I felt like the luckiest girl in the world.
