Bride & Groom: Jasmyne and Julius
Wedding Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Wedding Date: June 3rd 217
The love story of Jasmyne and Julius began on the campus of the University of Tennessee. Julius was a graduate assistant football coach, a similar position previously held at one point by Jasmyne’s father, Jerry – an inductee into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame and the current General Manager of the New York Giants. Jasmyne was a transfer student when Julius first laid eyes on her, immediately reaching out in a private message on Instagram. Ignoring him at first, Julius’ polite persistence eventually paid off as he began to win over her heart. Before long they started dating and the sparks flew as their feelings for each other grew. Jasmine and Julius soon discovered that this relationship was something special – feeling as if they were always meant to be together…
It was on a summer trip in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico where Julius decided it would be the perfect location to take their relationship to the next level. Along with two other couples, who were in on the proposal plan, they all enjoyed everything the beautiful Caribbean Sea city has to offer. Deciding to have a balcony “photo shoot” at sunset, everyone took turns getting their picture taken. When it came time for Jasmyne and Julius’ turn, standing on a balcony, a beautiful ocean sunset in the background, Julius dropped to one knee and asked Jasmyne to spend the rest of her life with him…
When dress shopping, although Jasmyne spent half the day at Kleinfield’s of NYC, when she walked into the Vera Wang Bridal salon she knew right away what would be the perfect dress for her. Jasmyne said yes to a ivory tulip chantilly lace mermaid Lillian gown with a hand-pieced circular flange train and mum garden hemline. The veil was a stunning Vera Wang Katarina Chapel, and an exquisite Vera Wang Chelsea crystal grosgrain sash added the finishing touch.
What is your best memory from your wedding?
Too many to decide so I have narrowed it down to 3!
1. First Look. Initially, we weren’t really sure if we wanted to do a First Look. I wanted the “oohs and ahhs” to be reserved for when I walked down the aisle. I am so happy we decided to have the first look. That special moment with just the two of us was priceless. The expression on my fiance’s face when he saw me for the first time was truly unforgettable.
2. Special moments with my father. Before the ceremony begin, but after the wedding party had entered, it was just my dad and I. He jokingly said “Are you sure you wanna do this?” We smiled and laughed and even took selfies. It was a special time for us.
3. Entrance. Walking into the ceremony surrounded by all of my family and friends, feeling like a princess, and seeing my future husband waiting for me with his eyes filled with tears was simply the best moment ever.
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples?
My best advice for an engaged couple is to enjoy the process. After all, you are planning to marry your best friend! Don’t sweat the small stuff, and it’s all small. Be prepared for the “this-wasn’t-supposed-to-happen” moments, but know that it will all work out – perfectly! Oh, if possible, bring onboard a fabulous wedding planner.
