Rhonda Bullock and Demah Payne had mutual friends in high school and kept in touch through Facebook after graduation. After one night out on the town with friends, the two began to stay in contact more frequently. As time went on, feelings developed that the two could no longer deny and the two officially began dating.
“As the months flew by,” Rhonda says, “It was noticeable to the both of us that we were headed to marriage. Our families picked up on the change and soon started asking and discussing our future wedding. The answer came to everyone on October 6th 2013 when Demah asked for my hand in marriage at our home church.”
Rhonda and Demah married at the University Club in Durham, North Carolina one year after the proposal, on October 4, 2014. The wedding was planned by Savoir-Faire Signature Events. After being announced as husband and wife, Rhonda says of her favorite moment, “I enjoyed facing the crowd to see all the loving faces that came out to celebrate our love.”
First Dance Song: “So Amazing” by Luther Vandross
Wedding Cake: Vanilla cake with cookies-n-cream filling and almond frosting
Wedding Style:
My dress silhouette was sweetheart with emphasis on the waist. I fell in love with the shoulder piece that took the dress to another level!
Shopping for the dress was fun and stressful. Nobody told me you only have an hour with some of the bigger bridal retail vendors. My advice would be to start shopping early, go with a small support team and have an open mind to different dress styles.
As for the bridal party, the bridesmaids gift was a clutch that they carried during the wedding instead of flowers. The groomsmen received pocket rounds that they wore during the wedding.
