Today’s feature wedding is a lovely fusion of bold colors and cultures! Natasha and Leon planned their entire wedding in less than 8 months! They went for a bright color scheme, mixing navy blue, and fuchsia pink, with silver accents. It was very important to them that they infuse both of their cultures and backgrounds into their wedding ceremony and reception. Leon is Chinese and Natasha is African-American. So at the end of their ceremony, the couple decided to incorporate the African-American tradition of jumping the broom. Natasha adds, “We used calla lilies and orchids as part of our flower arrangements to infuse part of the Chinese culture. Tea is a big part of the Chinese culture, so our guests were given personalized tea bags. We also had the Chinese ‘double happiness’ symbol on our wedding cake topper, place cards, table number signs, and wedding tea bag favors.”
While every aspect of their wedding was literally infused with happiness, their most memorable moments were seeing the smiles on each other’s faces when they saw each other for the first time, and being able to share their special day with family and friends from near and far. These are the moments that will stay in their hearts for years to come. Enjoy their gorgeous photos captured by Natarsha Wright Photography (This wedding is featured in the FW14 issue of our magazine).

With the busy schedules of today’s working professionals, online dating is becoming a less taboo option for meeting potential partners. Leon and Natasha were both extremely apprehensive about online dating, but when they met on the website “Plenty of Fish,” they soon realized they had found a potential match. On their first phone conversation they talked for hours, and it was very clear that there was something special about their connection.
As time progressed, their connection grew deeper. Leon decided to propose to Natasha on Christmas Day 2013 in front of family. He gave Natasha a “present” with 5 boxes inside of each other. Natasha began to open each box until she saw the ring. Leon then got down on one knee and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him.
