Connected by their Caribbean backgrounds, Arianne and Rob tied the knot in a romantic wedding at the Legacy Castle in New Jersey.
The couple first met while working together at a small community hospital in Brooklyn New York. Their shared duties brought them closer and soon Arianne was catching feelings. She shares, “…it was there that I realized [Rob’s] kindness and compassion.”
Luckily, the feelings were mutual, and they started dating! Following their engagement, it was time to start the wedding planning process. Although weddings can be stressful, the couple worked with their venue to bring their dream wedding to life.
Incorporating their shared Caribbean culture through music and food was an important part of that dream. “We both come from Caribbean families,” Arianne shares. “We wanted to create a bridge where our families could have an experience in a venue like the Legacy Castle but still feel comfortable being themselves and enjoying themselves as if we were in any venue in the world.”
With an incredible team of vendors, the resulting day was a romantic affair with soft pink hues, towering white floral tree centerpieces, and personal touches sprinkled throughout.

The bride-to-be…
How did you meet?
Rob and I worked together at a small community hospital in Brooklyn, NY during his residency. We worked closely with patients and it was there that I realized his kindness and compassion.
Describe your wedding attire, style, and wedding shopping experience.
Arianne: My wedding dress was Martina Liana. We had relocated to VA prior to the wedding so I researched some boutiques in the area. I selected Elegance by Roya in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia based on their intimate experience and the wide selection of wedding designers I liked. I was able to have my mother and cousins attend the dress selection with me.
As this was my first dress trying-on experience, it was very important to ensure I found a style that fit my body type. A lot of women dream of princess gowns when it comes to their wedding day, but I knew I wanted something a little more fitted and dare I say sexy. My fitter for my alterations was extremely helpful, especially with the small details like matching my veil to the detailed beading and lace on the gown.
The groom…
Robert’s suit was from The Wedding Plaza in Floral Park, NY. Rob wanted something with a subtle sparkle. He knew he wanted a white suit jacket with black pants. Once he saw the jacket he knew it was the one he wanted. The small rhinestone details in the jacket were exactly what he wanted to show a little sparkle for the wedding. His process of course was much easier than mine.
Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding?
We both come from Caribbean families. Culture was more so in the means of music and dance. We wanted to create a bridge where our families could have an experience in a venue like the Legacy Castle but still feel comfortable being themselves and enjoying themselves as if we were in any venue in the world.
What is your best wedding day memory?
Arianne: Seeing Rob when we did our first look photos. We did a pretty good job of keeping away and I think the whole moment was magical and exciting for us both.
Robert: Our first dance, when I nailed that dip!

What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples?
Work together! Planning a wedding is a very stressful process and it can be very difficult if you feel like you are alone. In our case, we both did our research on venues, menus, and invitations. Rob built our wedding website. I handled flowers and decor. It is very important to feel like this is something you both want not just what the bride wants.
