There are many romantic ways to celebrate your anniversary. Dinners and flowers are always great, but anniversary shoots are becoming an extremely popular way for couples to commemorate their unions. Anniversary shoots allow couples to reconnect and create a visual scrapbook of how their love and chemistry has evolved. Julia Azcona and Ariel Diaz decided to celebrate their September 2012 nuptials by teaming up with photographer Carmen Santorelli for a whimsical and romantic shoot. Julia shares, “The inspiration came from wanting to start a tradition that every year for our anniversary we will do a photo shoot to capture our life together. I’m hoping to continue this tradition as our little family grows.” The beautiful greenery and architecture of Central Park in New York City served as the perfect location for this handsome couple to express their love. As you celebrate your anniversary, what do you remember most about your wedding day?
My most memorable moment of our day was during our first look. Ariel looked so handsome! I was so incredibly happy to have those few minutes before the ceremony and reception to just take it all in, all the beauty around us, and seeing him so emotional just made everything so much more exciting. I was filled with so much joy and couldn’t wait to walk down the aisle to see him again.
What are your favorite things to do?
As a married couple we have come to really love cooking dinner together while sipping on a glass of wine and discussing the happenings of our day. It is one of my favorite part of the day.
What advice can you give for newlyweds?
I feel a lot of people make it seem scary and tell you that things will change, and that may be so, but it can be good change as long as you keep loving and caring for each other.
