In this fun and flirty engagement session at the Cadillac Ranch National Harbor in Washington, DC, one thing is evidently clear: Jess and Tie are meant to be!
Jessica and Tiesha’s love story started as an unintentional game of cat and mouse. First meeting out on the town bar hopping with friends, the pair exchanged steamy glances, but neither of them made a move. A series of almost-encounters followed where Jess was invited to events, but never showed up.
Then, one day, Jess decided to make an impromptu stop at their mutual friend’s house for game night. While helping her friend set up, there was a knock on the door and Jess opened it to a pleasant surprise: a grinning Tie!
“The chemistry between us was undeniable,” Jess shares. A few months later, they reconnected once more and Tie asked Jess out on their official first date.
Flash forward to 2018, they chose to visit one of Tie’s favorite places: Cadillac Ranch National Harbor. On the date, Jess excused herself to use the bathroom and when she returned, there was a napkin sitting on her side of the table.
…there was a napkin on my side of the table that read, ‘will you be my woman, my lady, my girlfriend’ with two boxes? One for yes and one for no. Smiling, I checked yes and on the opposite side of the napkin I wrote back to Tiesha saying, ‘only if you promise to stay for a lifetime. I love you!’
– Jess
At that moment, they knew they had found their forever person. And so began their journey towards the aisle!

How they met…
Our very first time ever meeting was a night out on the town with some friends. Tiesha and a friend of hers were invited out to bar hop by a mutual friend. When Tiesha and I laid eyes on each other, there was an immediate attraction. Tiesha was so taken by me she complimented me instantly on how pretty she thought I was. That evening was just filled with lots of stares but no conversation. Let’s just say Tie was playing nice.
From that moment on we were playing the cat and mouse game, that neither one of us was aware of. For the next several months I was invited to different functions that Tiesha would be attending but I never showed up. This one particular evening I decided to pop out on the scene at our mutual friend’s house for an impromptu game night that was supposed to be held in our apartment’s community center. While helping him prepare for company, there was a knock at the door, and when I opened it, there stood Tiesha smiling from ear to ear with excitement to see me and shock in her voice. The chemistry between us was undeniable.
A few months later it was time for me to move out of my apartment. To celebrate me leaving, I called our mutual friend downstairs to the Argosy, which was the restaurant that was attached to our apartment building to have drinks. Several hours later and a few drinks (liquid courage), I asked our friend to invite Tiesha over.
Moments later, in walks Tiesha and my heart dropped. It seemed as if we were the only ones in the room. A short time later it was time for Tiesha to leave because she had to go back to work, so I walked her out. We hugged as I grabbed her hand before departing. I walked back into the Argosy and before I could blink my eyes really good, she returned taking the rest of the day off.
Their first date…
We talked, we laughed. It was a great time.
The proposal…
Tiesha asked me out on a date. She picked me up and took me to one of my favorite places, National Harbor. We decided to eat at Cadillac Ranch.
While at the table conversation was normal. I excused myself to the bathroom and when I returned there was a napkin on my side of the table that read: ‘will you be my woman, my lady, my girlfriend’ with two boxes? One for yes and one for no.
Smiling, I checked yes and on the opposite side of the napkin I wrote back to Tiesha saying, ‘only if you promise to stay for a lifetime. I love you! Ayeee…we made it official. Next stop Mrs. Ingram!’
On that day, March 3, 2018, that’s when we both knew we had found our forever person.
Engagement session & theme…
Cadillac Ranch was our theme, that was where Tiesha asked me to marry her so we knew we wanted that included in our journey to the aisle.
We wanted the engagement shoot to represent us. The theme was fun, it was so us.
My denim jacket embellished with pearls read “Mrs. Ingram” and my popped collar adored our wedding date: 9/9/23.
Tiesha complimented me with her denim jacket and custom sneakers which also noted the wedding date 9/9/23.
Favorite thing to do together…
We date each other, we have date nights in the surrounding areas sometimes traveling to New York and Philadelphia to experience new date outings.
Wedding planning so far…
Wedding planning has been great! We’re in great hands with our amazing wedding planner, Tiffanie Event Planner, Bird of Paradise Events. The team in place fits us perfectly.
What they’re looking forward to most…
I’m looking forward to seeing all the glam come together and partying. Tiesha is looking forward to the party.
