Much like the classic teenage love story, Bianca and Jeremiah met in the hallways of their high school. Although they had been crushing on each other since freshman year, they did not become sweethearts for many years later. Still, Jeremiah chose to make up for lost time by proposing to Bianca on the steps of their high school alma mater!
Staying true to their schoolhouse romance, Bianca and Jeremiah had their engagement session on the Seton Hall University campus in New Jersey. Take some time and view their session, photographed by Tayo’s Creations.

Tell us how you met and how he proposed.
Jeremiah and I met my freshman year in high school. We had walked passed each other many times in the hallway (trust me I remember every time I saw him) and finally exchanged words on a group walk to the track after school for track practice in Spring 2003. We always knew we really liked one another but chose to not pursue a relationship in high school. We ran into each other many years after high school and finally decided to give it a try. The rest is history…
On the night of my birthday, Jeremiah asked if I would attend a business meeting with him the following morning at our high school. I have attended many events and meetings for his business before so this was not anything out of the norm. We pulled up to the back of the high school the next morning and walked up the school steps when he stopped and asked if we could take a picture before we walked in. This at first seemed odd because he hates taking pictures. Instead of placing the camera on the “camera setting” he actually placed it on the “movie setting” and began recording. At that moment, Jeremiah began to give me a super sweet speech on how he decided to bring me back to the very first place we met and all the other mushy and special things I never thought he would remember from high school. I stood there like a statue, shocked and surprised and holding back tears. He then popped the question and I absolutely said YES. He then walked me around to the front of the school where our parents were waiting for us! To have our parents all there was so special and important for me. We then left together to have a wonderful family breakfast at a yummy restaurant.
What did you do on your first date?
On the night of our first date, Jeremiah had to come to my house and meet with my dad before being able to take me out. We initially were going to grab a bite to eat and catch a movie at our local theater but since Jeremiah and my dad had been talking for so long we missed the movie. Instead my dad recommended that all three of us go out to dinner together. And so our first date included my dad. Sounds funny when I talk about it but it was actually quite special that these two amazing men could sit with me and connect so naturally with one another.
What is your favorite thing to do as a couple?
Going to the gym.
How has wedding planning been so far?
Wedding planning has been slow. I decided to do very minimal planning while school was in session and to continue to focus on my studies. I plan to do all of my planning and booking of additional vendors during my school’s Winter Break. So pretty much I have a three week span to plan 90% of the wedding. I created a “Wedding Binder” which keeps me organized and on schedule. I would be pretty lost without it!
Tell us what you are looking forward to most on the wedding day?
On the wedding day I am looking forward to putting on my dress and walking down the aisle to my husband-to-be! We have decided to not have a “first look” and our first time seeing one another will be as I walk down the aisle. I just hope he smiles when he sees me in my dress all dolled up just for him!
