Kimberly and Justin first crossed paths in the Facebook group of a mutual friend where, feeling bold one day, Kimberly decided to make a move.
Immediately following up with her in a private message, Justin and Kimberly began a conversation that day that would continue into their first official date a few months later. That evening, over a Mediterranean dinner and romantic downtown walk, the strength of their bond continued to grow, reaffirming in both their hearts that in each other they had found a love unlike any other…

Tell us how you met. We met in a mutual friend’s Facebook group. We instantly connected because we both attended Auburn University around the same time, but didn’t know each other.
Kim: “One day I felt bold and put the word “Bae” under one of Justin’s comments in the group. He immediately sent me a private message and we started conversing regularly at that point, then met in person a few months later. We’ve been together ever since.”
Justin: “Kim had ‘shot her shot’ under one of my comments. We eventually started talking frequently. We later met in person and we were inextricable ever since.”
Tell us all about the proposal. After spending the weekend visiting my parents in Alabama, I spent the ride back home thinking about how I would propose. I have had plenty of ideas as to how I would pull it off but that would likely require more time to make happen. Once I made it home, Kim and I were having a conversation (which was probably on the animated side) while she was in bed most likely watching TV when it came to me to just do it. I left under the guise of having to unpack something and went to the hiding spot I had for the ring. I soon returned to the room Kim was in, I got down on one knee and proposed. And of course, she said yes!
What did you do on your first date? On our first date, we went to Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe for dinner. After dinner, we went for a walk around Downtown Montgomery, AL.
Favorite thing(s) to do as a couple? Our favorite things to do as a couple is attend concerts, travel and spend time with our family and friends.
Describe your engagement session. Our engagement session was a great experience. It was very cold that day, as it was in mid-January and we wanted to take our pictures outside, but LaJoy made it a lot of fun.
How did you know they were “the one”? Kim: “I knew Justin was the one because, from the beginning, things were just different with him. He was so kind, attentive and consistent, and we always had a good time when we were together.”
Justin: “I had a feeling Kim was probably the one from the beginning. She was always selfless, attentive and definitely complimentary to me. She showed me that from the beginning. We have always thoroughly enjoyed each other’s presence.”
How has wedding planning been so far? The planning has been very low stress by design. From the beginning, we have tried to choose things that would cause the least amount of stress, such as an all-inclusive venue, since we only had seven months to plan. Then with the help of our wonderful event planner, Val at OneTouch Events, we have been really stress-free throughout the process. Overall, the venue and vendors alleviated every possible reason to be stressed and were a pleasure to work with.
What are you looking forward to most on the wedding day? We are most looking forward to seeing our family and friends come out to celebrate with us as we start our journey in life together.
