The bride celebrated her Island roots by heading to her dream wedding destination: Montego Bay, Jamaica!
Dianne and Chad’s love story began at work in 2007. They fell passionately in love and eventually started a family together, welcoming a beautiful little girl into their lives. Their daughter actually played a key role in their proposal story. While Dianne was out enjoying a day of self-care, Chad was preparing an adorable surprise.
Dianne recalls, “I came home… and was greeted at the door by my 2-year-old daughter wearing something different from what I left her in. Chad dressed her in a pink onesie that said, “Mommy, will you marry Daddy?” and when I looked up he was on his knees with a ring box.”
How could she say no to that?!
With Dianne’s roots in the Virgin Islands, she had always dreamed of saying “I do” in a tropical wedding destination. So, they set their sights on The Wharf House in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Planned by Jamaica Wedding Concierge and beautifully captured by Penguinphotography876, the couple’s wedding was everything they dreamed of and more.

Adorable suiting statement…
How did you meet?
At work back in 2007.
Tell us about the proposal:
I came home from having a self-care day and was greeted at the door by my 2-year-old daughter wearing something different from what I left her in. Chad dressed her in a pink onesie that said, “Mommy, will you marry Daddy?” and when I looked up he was on his knees with a ring box.
Our first look…
Describe your wedding style, attire, and shopping experience.
I always knew I wanted a destination wedding and I always wanted to visit Jamaica from the time I was a little girl.
I’m from the Virgin Islands (St. Thomas) so I wanted an island vibe for my special week/weekend. I wanted my dress to be off white, light weight and easy to pack. We didn’t want to be too traditional.
My wedding shopping experience was actually pretty easy, I didn’t want to give myself too many options so I become indecisive – I fell in love with my dress immediately! Chad’s suit was a custom made 3 piece olive green suit.
Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding?
I certainly did, in the food and music. I stayed true to my culture when it came to the dinner options and the music that was played.
Mr. & Mrs….
What is your best memory from your wedding?
There were so many best memories if you ask me — witnessing close friends turn into family. It was a whole vibe! I loved seeing everyone happy and smiling.

What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples?
Invite people who genuinely love you and your husband/partner. That makes a difference in how your day will go. You should be surrounded by an abundance of love!
And don’t forget to Live in the moment! I know everyone says that but that was the best advice I got and I didn’t just that. We lived in the moment the entire time. I had endless moments of happy tears.
My whole wedding was a vibe and I didn’t want it to end! I’ve already asked my forever wedding planner if they can plan a renewal next year!
