Candace wanted a wedding that embodied true southern tradition with class and glamour. After 13 years she was marrying the love of her life, Javar, and the day was perfect. Officiated at St. Matthew’s Missionary Baptist Church, the groom was dressed to the nines in a navy blue tuxedo with black lapels and bow tie. The beautiful bride wowed in a sweetheart gown with lace detailing and a cathedral veil. She employed the royal shade of purple to coat their reception space, adding silver accents throughout. Ivory florals were strategically placed on the cocktail and dining tables while metallic chiavari chairs tied in with the glamorous theme. The southern wedding was both elegant and magnetic, a true testament to what Candace had envisioned. Take a look at their beautiful photos shot by Coterie member, Sam Jasper Photography.

About the proposal
Javar and Candace had planned months ahead to attend the On The Run Tour featuring Jay-z and Beyonce in Atlanta, Ga. About 2 weeks before the date, Javar’s sister Laquanda recommended that the couple take some up-to-date photos (After all, they were already going to be in town and she wanted to update her website.) Of course the two agreed and the stage was set. Laquanda explained that she had set up two sessions for the couple, one at a nearby park and the other in a studio. Secretly, Candace thought that the big question would be popped at one of the sessions, but those thoughts vanished because Javar wasn’t showing any signs of nervousness. He was acting normal and nonchalant as always. The sessions went as planned and the two headed back to their hotel. Soon after, Laquanda called and said that there was one more location she’d like to shoot. She explained that it would be really quick and it was right by the Georgia Dome so they could simply head directly to the concert afterwards. Again the couple agreed. The couple left their hotel and along with Laquanda and Sorrell (Javar’s cousin) headed to the Westin hotel. Upon arrival, they all headed up to the observatory located on the 72nd floor. There, Laquanda began taking more pictures of the couple. In the mist, Javar grabbed Candace’s hands, professed his love, and asked for her hand in marriage. Of course, she said “YES!” July 15, 2014 became a day they’d never forget.
