Though Jessica and David’s courtship only lasted a few short months, the loving couple knew that forever was already theirs.
After meeting in 2017, thanks to Facebook, Jessica and David began a relationship they knew was confirmation that they were to belong forever to each other. For Jessica, she knew David was the one immediately due to their instantaneous vibe and connection. With their love and faith in God first, the couple was able to come together and live in the communion that they knew belonged to them.

Wedding Venue: First Baptist Church of Fort Lauderdale
Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. David and I met in September of 2017 via Facebook. Six months later he proposed to me at South Pointe Pier, Miami in front of my family and friends.
How did you know they were “the one”?
Jessica: I knew David was the one because I received confirmation from God and when he asked my mother’s permission before he took me out on our first date. It was an instant connection between the two of us. David: I knew she was the one based on how we got connected on our first date, it felt like we have known each other for a while, and she has the qualities I was looking for in a woman. Before we met each other, I was praying for a woman like her so that was also a confirmation from God.
Describe your wedding style: For our colors, we chose white, ivory, champagne, and gold.
What was wedding shopping like for you? Jessica: When I was shopping for a wedding dress, I knew I wanted a mermaid dress, figure-hugging with a long train. I had two pictures of dresses saved on my phone for years, even before met my husband. One was a mermaid with a beaded bodice and tulle skirt by Allure and the other, a dressed worn by Kim K with an extensive train. I knew I somehow wanted those two dresses in one, so I had it customized by adding beaded straps and adding a detachable train. It actually didn’t take long to find my dress at all; I purchased it one month after I was engaged. David: Tux shopping wasn’t too crazy, I knew what I wanted and I went for it.
Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding? If yes, tell us more.
We’re both Haitian so of course, we had to have Diri Djon Djon (Black Mushroom Rice), kremas (Haitian Iris cream with liquor) and Konpa (Haitian Music).
What is your best memory from your wedding?
Jessica: Seeing my husband stand at the end of the aisle crying. David: My best memories are, seeing my wife walking down the aisle and listening to her vows.
Wedding Party gifts: Earrings for the girls
Favorite item on the menu: Grilled Salmon
First dance song: Saxophone rendition of “Every Time I Close My Eyes” by Babyface.
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples?
Jessica: Savor every moment, hire a planner and don’t swear by the little things, they don’t matter at the end of the day. David: Stay focused during the process, love each other and don’t let stress get in the way. Keep praying with each other because the enemy will try to put doubt and fear in your mind.
