Featured in Issue 30, this golden floral wedding inspiration was captured and conceptualized by Kate Destiny Photography to show brides of all shades and sizes that their bridal portraits can represent each part of their unique identities.
From the bold and moody to the elegant and refined, every bride can find inspiration in this golden floral-styled shoot. Sprinkled with pops of yellow paired with just the right touches of gold, Kate Sandercock of Kate Destiny Photography thought of every elegant detail.
The shoot features a sophisticated tablescape laden with a crisp white tablecloth, white plates with gold trim, and gold utensils. Vintage yellow chalices, golden-yellow candlesticks, and luscious floral centerpieces sprinkled with yellows, oranges, and soft pinks were the focal points of the display.
However, at its core, her bridal portrait session was all about bringing size representation to the forefront of bridal.
Size inclusivity is so important, and we have some exceptional designers who create their gowns with all body types in mind. Every body type and every bride deserves to have representation. I hope this piece inspires a real bride who often feels unseen.

The vision…
This season is all about bold pops of colour and I wanted to pair that with classic gold undertones.

Every element of this shoot was designed to create depth and visual interest. The golden tablescape includes a variety of textures and layers to create an inviting, romantic, and elegant reception space for guests to enjoy.

Place setting details…
Pushing the traditional bridal boundaries, I reached out to Blair Nadeau to create a one-of-a-kind grey veil. This statement piece, as well as a custom shoulder necklace, created the moody, dimensional, and dramatic portraits I was hoping for.

Bridal portraits are the perfect opportunity for brides to showcase their unique personalities, and fashion plays a large role in creating the aesthetic that defines them as brides. Whether that’s bright and cheery, or moody and somber, fashion helps to define bridal identity. Often we only see one side portrayed.
