Prayer and patience was the makeup of DeNeitra and Lawrence’s lovely destination wedding in Mexico. And “beach chic” was the theme. A California wedding planner, DeNeitra planned every detail of the event with grace and care. The couple had an intimate beach ceremony for close family and friends, followed by a reception for which all guests were in attendance. Soft hues of pink and blue decorated the outdoor occasion, and as the sun set, the party ensued.
DeNeitra and Lawrence hosted their wedding party at the Dreams Puerto Vallarta Resort in Mexico. But there was no question that love was their true destination.

Tell us all about the proposal!
Lawrence proposed during his birthday weekend getaway to Cambria, CA. It was July 4th and we went to the beach and climbed on top of a rock where we prayed and Lawrence serenaded me with a song he wrote me. After the song he asked me to be his wife. Absolutely unexpected and completely amazing!
Memories
My best memory from our wedding day was praying with Lawrence before the ceremony. As a wedding planner I always encourage my couples to take a moment with each other before they walk down the aisle. There’s a calming power in praying with the one you love. We opted to not see each other prior to the wedding but we prayed holding hands on opposite sides of a wall. It was beautiful. My second favorite memory from the wedding day was having my dad walk me down the aisle. I was so nervous and he kept telling me I looked beautiful and that the day was all about Lawrence and I. Total perfection! Okay. . .just one more favorite memory – the entire wedding weekend experience was amazing. For an entire weekend we were surrounded by the people we love and who truly love and pour into us.
Help a bride-to-be out!
I always share this advice with my clients and engaged friends but, it’s actually a piece of advice that I didn’t heed during the planning process. Take a few days or weeks to enjoy being ENGAGED. Don’t plan a thing. Get away from Pinterest, put down your Munaluchi magazine and just take it all in. You’re marrying the man of your dreams. The engagement process goes by so quickly. . .you’ll be his wife for a lifetime, but you only get to be his fiance’ for a short while. Enjoy it before the craziness ensues!
