It was Nanelle’s first year attending university in the states when she initially crossed paths with Emmanuel.
As the orientation leader, Emmanuel was showing Nanelle around campus, eventually becoming her “go-to” person for navigating her new student life. Soon they became a support for each other, and that relationship would construct the foundation of trust that their love is built upon. Emmanuel and Nanelle were pronounced husband and wife in a gorgeous high-style wedding in Accra, Ghana – featuring planning by MunaLuchi Coterie member Purple Twirl Events.
Bride & Groom: Nanelle & Emmanuel
Occupations: Wedding Date: 28th December 2019
Wedding Location: Accra, Ghana
How did you meet? We met in my first year of university in the states. He was an orientation leader so he had to show me around and eventually became my go-to person. He eventually warmed his way into my heart and the rest is history!
Tell us about the proposal! Emmanuel proposed on our dating anniversary at my parents’ house surrounded by the ones we hold most dear. It was all a surprise planned by him, the wedding planner, our parents, maid of honor and best man.
What was the wedding shopping experience like for you? The search for the perfect wedding dress begun with countless DMs between my best friend/maid of honor and me. Nothing prepared me for the actual task. I had six appointments for different wedding dress boutiques in Dubai and after all these appointments, I still hadn’t found a dress I liked and, we were pressed for time. Thank goodness for one of the boutique attendants who showed me a Centre/mall with wedding gown designers. God bless her because I found my wedding designer and gown there. The suits were pretty straightforward because the groomsmen and groom knew who they wanted as their designer, Maiatafo.
Wedding Party Gifts: I put a handbag, personalized wine glass, jewelry and a personalized phone case for my bridesmaids. I got an illustration of all of us done (like a wedding portrait) then used that as the phone case with “bride squad” and our wedding hashtag on them.
Ceremony Entrance Song: “How Long Will I Love You” by Ellie Goulding
First Dance Song: “101” by Cina Soul
What is your best memory from your wedding? Our vows! Because it was personal and meaningful to both of us. It wasn’t the usual repeat after our vows.
