Today’s featured wedding is romantic, filled with tears and the comfort of their close families and friends. The bride, Toyosi, was going for an edgy, yet romantic look, and executed that perfectly. Just check out that amazing headpiece! To complement her unique look, Lanre wore a custom Benjof couture suit in a deep blue tone. Quite different from what we typically see on a groom, but certainly dapper. Enjoy these lovely photos from Rhphotoarts.
Bride – Toyosi Williams

Description
The theme for our wedding was “Once Upon a Dream.” It just fits us perfectly. Our being together was truly a dream come true and we just wanted everyone in the room to feel the love.We did have a few challenges here and there but thanks to God, we made it through. We initially wanted an outdoor ceremony around a fountain but due to the venue not being ready for our big day, we decided to move it to the Hyatt North and it turned out to be perfect. Thanks to Keisha of Keisha’s Creations and Shade of a Conceal Affair, we incorporated the idea by bringing the outdoor inside, hence the ceremony with the bride and groom surrounded by friends and family in a circle of love. It was beautiful. We also had to realize that our wedding day was not just about us. Being the perfectionist that I am, I had to learn to be flexible with requests from family members and loved ones.
Wedding Style
For my big day, I wanted to be “Very Romantic” but still “Edgy” hence why I got the hairpiece. I wanted to feel like a Queen rather than a princess. I just wanted to be different and push the envelope. For my hair and makeup, I simply told Lyzadora to bring the ‘drama’ (and boy, did she do her thing and we got the drama….only lyzadora will understand. :-)) My wedding dress was made by Casablanca Couture with additional customizing done by Parvani Vida bridal in Houston, TX. Funny story about the dress! I could not fit into it while trying on dresses so my younger sister had to wear it and yes, she is 3 dress sizes smaller but I just knew that was the dress once I saw it on her! My advise for brides would be to enjoy the experience and go with just few people that way, you don’t get confused by too many opinions. Unlike most brides, I only went to 2 Bridal Boutiques, only tried on about 8 dresses and had just 3 ladies with me. It also helps to know how to balance knowing what you want and keeping an open mind cause your dream dress might not be the right fit.
Incorporating culture…
Yes!!! Both my husband and I are of Nigerian descent and Nigerians are very vibrant and colorful people. Both sides of the family had on traditional outfits along with the couple’s friends. We also changed into 2 Nigerian outfits during the reception. We also incorporated Nigerian Cuisine along with American.
Best Memories
The most memorable part of our wedding day was the ceremony. From the moment I walked down the aisle, he was all I could see. Reading our vows to each other was a moment I will never forget. It was perfect. On a lighter note, I also enjoyed the garter toss! My wonderful husband had his Groomsmen serenaded me with a choreographed dance to “My girl” by the Temptations before the he finally sealed the deal.
He loves…
He tells me that he loves my heart and compassion. He tells me that even though I don’t see it, I am one of the most selfless people he has ever met.
She loves…
I love his faith in God. No matter what He is always so positive, gentle and never waivers. His faith allows me see courage and strength from a new perspective. He challenges me to see the good in everyone and every situation.
This wedding is also shared with our partners at BellaNaija Weddings.

This wedding was exquisite. Toyosi the color palette you chose was stunning. Your dress was timeless and you looked lovely. Your bridesmaid’s dresses were gorgeous and sexy the shoes were Haute. Not leaving out the Groom and his court, they were fine- looking men, TALL and HANDSOME.
