First Dance: “You and I” by John Legend
How They Met: Nichole’s best friend was in town visiting so of course it made sense that she was going to go to a favorite dance spot and celebrate! On that Friday night, Nichole and her best friend were relaxing a bit after all the dancing and catching up. Then a friend Nichole’s walked over and greeted them. The friend also mentioned to Nichole that their was someone they would like her to meet. Nichole accepted and then as her friend went to go them. Minutes later she saw a gentleman approaching her direction that caught her eye… “…That someone was Tracy. He introduced his self to us. Immediately I thought this guy is handsome!!! We talked a bit, he asked me to dance, and we’ve been dancing ever since. Shortly thereafter we went on our first date, very early on I knew he was the one! ” It was the beginning of a something great for Nichole…
The Proposal: Nichole had this feeling that Tracy might propose sooner or later. But she felt as though Tracy was building up her anticipation. Especially in February, one year during the entire month, when he was taking her to all places where he could propose such as the Times Square and out of state at his family’s house. She was having engagement fever!
Now the proposal was something Tracy had meticulously planned…“Well when we were boarding our flight back to Dallas on Sunday and there was no proposal…. guess who had a poked out lip? (ME) LOL!!!! We returned home and back to everyday life. The following Tuesday I had to travel for work. Unbeknownst to me Tracy had connected with my colleague Ed and arranged for Ed to reschedule our travel so that Ed and I would end up in Oklahoma City on Wednesday night. Ed made up some story about having to get back to OKC to have dinner with his uncle.
So it’s Wednesday February 26th 5:00 p.m., I’m driving…. just as Ed and I are pulling into our hotel I got all worked up over something I heard on the radio. As we are checking in I was thinking where am I going to have dinner and by gosh I sure could use a cocktail… how am I going to accomplish that if Ed’s going to take our car and have dinner with his uncle? Just as I’m finishing up registration I start inquiring about the very important topics of “dinner and drinks”. I hear Tracy’s voice come from behind me…. I was totally surprised and caught off guard. Now when you travel like I do…. being on the road can be very lonely so to hear his voice and know that he was there was overwhelming. After I stopped saying “baby you’re here… baby you’re here…..” he handed me a dozen red roses. He whisked me away in a car to VAST, a beautiful restaurant on the 49th floor of Devon Towers in downtown Oklahoma City.
After a beautiful dinner…. he got down on one knee and made me the happiest woman alive when he asked me to be his wife!!!! YES YES YES!!!!!”
Memories from The Big Day
“We had 3 wonderful days with all of our guest so we got to enjoy each other and create so many wonderful memories. Although one moment in particular stands out, our wedding was in a chapel, right outside the chapel was the Gulf of Mexico. Walking up to the chapel before entering, I felt overwhelmed with love and gratitude for that moment. When I turned and entered the chapel tears of joy started streaming down my face when I saw Tracy, our family, and friends. It was the perfect/best day of my life!”
Advice from the Bride
“Stay in your budget. Prioritize, not all the wants are necessity. It’s a day and you have to think about a lifetime. We splurged on a few things and I’m happy we did but there were some things that could have done without.”
Nichole married the man of her dreams and had her wedding near a captivating beach in Mexico. We at Munaluchi wish this fun, bold, and exciting couple the best in their marriage!
