Tell us how you met and all about the proposal: The couple met in 2005. It was Brittany’s senior year at Spelman College. They were at a club in Atlanta, Ga and Ziggy walked over to her with the biggest smile. They developed a friendship over the years and started dating in 2010. After growing together for the next 5 years, Ziggy proposed in Montego Bay, Jamaica in September of 2015 while they were on vacation. Ziggy created a scavenger hunt of clues throughout the day leading up to the proposal. He enlisted a flight attendant, hotel staff, Brittany’s closest friend and brother to provide her with clues leading to a romantic dinner on their resort. As he proposed at dinner, Ziggy had enlisted another vacationer from the resort to sing “You Are So Beautiful” by Joe Cocker. Brittany also walked down the aisle to the same song. Understanding how important family is to Brittany, Ziggy had also prepared a video from Brittany’s parents to show her after the proposal giving their blessing. They were on vacation in Paris at the time.
Wedding Style: My wedding dress was by Pronovias. I wanted a dress that was sleek and sophisticated but sexy. I wanted the dress to be comfortable with a long train. Those were my only must haves! I shopped with my mother, brother and best friend in California over the Christmas holiday. It was a wonderful experience and I really didn’t want it to end.
Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding? No we wanted to keep the wedding simple and classic.
What is your best memory from your wedding? Brittany’s best memory was walking down the aisle with her father and seeing Ziggy smiling at the alter. Ziggy’s best memory from the wedding was sharing his vows. They both also enjoyed hanging out with family and friends at the cigar bar during the reception.
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples? To make sure you enjoy your day and your family.
