Guyanese and Indian wedding features glamorous black-tie attire and luscious florals at the Park Chateau Estate and Gardens.
A modern love story, Krystal and Zachary first met online on the dating app, Hinge. After chatting and eventually meeting up in real life, they instantly hit it off! It was only a matter of time before wedding bells chimed.
Zachary planned a surprise Autumn proposal (the couple’s favorite season!) disguised as a photo shoot for seasonal cards. A professional photographer captured all the lovely details, including the romantic proposal and Krystal’s complete surprise!
The world for me just stopped. I was overjoyed and could not stop crying. It was just me and Zach during that special moment and I would not have had it any other way.

Describe your wedding style, attire, and shopping experience.
Black tie Event for Men and Long dress gown for women guests. The wedding shopping experience was fun! I tried on several gowns until I tried on two dresses that just brought me to tears. My mom, mother-in-law, and sisters all knew the one that brought tears to them as well. Eve of Milady took my heart that day and we settled on the perfect wedding gown for me.
Tell us about the proposal.
Fall has been a season that always just amazed us with beauty. Every time we were in the car we always adored the trees and just admired the change of color of the leaves and how beautiful the pile of leaves looked when they fell.
It was September when we received a postcard from my sister with a fall seasonal card in the mail. I told Zach I always wanted to send out a seasonal greeting card to family members just like that.
At the end of September, Zach surprised me with a fall photoshoot with a photographer at a local park. I was so excited. I ordered pumpkins and a little fall outfit for our puppy, Prince, with the cutest fall bandana.
While planning all of this, Zach already knew what he had in mind.
Zach (before planning this) asked my mom, dad, and sisters for my hand. Not knowing a thing, my sisters even helped me plan for this special photoshoot. They helped me pick my outfit, took me to get my nails done, and even wanted to Facetime me before we left for the shoot.
We arrived at Waveny Park located in New Canaan, CT and it was magical. Zach got down on one knee and said that he asked my father for my hand and wanted to know if I would make him the happiest guy and be his wife.
The world for me just stopped. I was overjoyed and could not stop crying. It was just me and Zach during that special moment and I would not have had it any other way. After we left I spent the remainder of the day with family who celebrated this special moment with us.
Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding?
I am Guyanese and my culture is Indian. Alongside playing Indian music I also had my bridesmaid Ashley dance a beautiful cultural Indian dance for Zach and me.
What is your best memory from your wedding?
The best memory of our wedding was having the first touch with Zach and telling each other how excited we were to spend the rest of our lives with each other and saying we would see each other soon at the altar.
Their first touch…
After that, my favorite memory was when the doors opened and when we first saw each other. The ceremony was out of a movie. And after we exchanged vows it was very emotional.

What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples?
Enjoy the wedding process. Wedding planning takes a lot of time and preparation to make the special day memorable. My wedding day was everything I imagined and more. I know every inch of stress was what Zach and I wanted and what defined us and our love for one another. Have fun planning!
