Architects, Christianne and Chad-Jamie have saved the date for an October 22, 2016 wedding in sunny La Jolla, CA. The couple, both San Diego transplants, moved to the absolutely gorgeous city within six months of each other and met at work. A beautiful discovery for both when they discovered that their fate was in the same design plans. They went back to basics and headed to The High Line in New York City, Chad’s hometown and a dream location for these architects, to commemorate their engagement.
Tell us about how you met and all about the proposal!
I moved to San Diego, CA from my hometown of Des Moines, IA after I graduated college, to accept a job at a pristine architecture firm. Interestingly enough, my fiancé, Chad moved to San Diego just six months prior from Miami, FL to accept a job at the same firm. This is where we met; our common interests and passion brought us together.
A year and a half later, we enjoyed brunch at our favorite spot on Coronado Island, then walked the beach. When we made our way to a quiet spot, Chad asked me to close my eye and when I opened them, he was down on one knee.
The engagement session…
As architects, we both have a special appreciation for New York. And Chad, grew up in New York. So we thought it would be a perfect spot for our engagement photos. The High Line is a green oasis in an urban jungle and we thought it was ideal to show our relationship and passion for such a great design. The session couldn’t have been better! Our photographer, John was laid back and fun with us laughing and smiling the entire time. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend the morning in NYC.
