The roots of love grow strong and deep when its seeds are first planted in friendship. When Ashlynn and Terrell met during their first year of college at Clemson University, they were definitely attracted to each other. However, they remained friends until their junior year.
They took their time, allowing their love to mature and flourish, and after seven years of dating Terrell decided to propose to Ashlynn during a trip to New York City. The ambiance was perfect. It was the weekend before Christmas in “the city that never sleeps.” They started their day walking the festively decorated streets of NYC, taking in all of the sights and sounds. Later that night, Terrell took Ashlynn to “The View,” the city’s only revolving restaurant, and asked for her hand in marriage. The couple spent the night enraptured in romance and love overlooking breathtaking views of Times Square!
For their wedding, the couple headed down south to Atlanta, GA. They had 18 months to plan the wedding of their dreams, and they enlisted the help of wedding and event designer Michelle Gainey of Lemiga Events, to plan a fabulous wedding full of Hollywood Glamour. It was truly a black-tie affair as guests dressed in their best formal attire and walked down a red carpet, which led them into the Terrell and Ashlynn’s glamorous vintage wedding venue. A classic color scheme of black, white, and purple with silver and gold accents, perfectly complemented the high ceilings, grand chandeliers and marble flooring of their historic venue, creating a timeless and elegant ambiance for their nuptials.
Ashlynn was flawless in all of her three wedding gowns! For the ceremony, she wore a fit + flare gown adorned with Swarovski crystals. Later she would change into a charmeuse halter gown for a surprise dance with the Terrell at the beginning of their reception. She concluded the night by wearing a classic fitted gown featuring intricate beading and a truly dramatic low back–a nod to Old Hollywood Glamour. Not to be outdone, Terrell started the night wearing a classic black tux, and later changed into a tailored white tux to match Ashlynn’s final bridal look.
While the day was full of many memorable moments with family and friends, the couple’s most memorable moment happened during their first look. Ashlynn shares, “We decided to forgo the tradition of not seeing each other before the ceremony. We wanted to share an intimate moment together, just the two of us, prior to being pulled in so many different directions. We were able to take in the first-sight of each other in our wedding attire and embrace one another. We will never forget that moment!” In the midst of all the glamour and glitz of their Hollywood wedding, Ashlynn and Terrell never forgot that their wedding was first and foremost a celebration of that seed of friendship that bloomed into love so many years ago, and that will continue to flourish for many years to come.
