Name: Bridget Goldsmith
Business Name: Bridget Goldsmith
Founded: 2009
Describe your business. Bridget Goldsmith is a boutique graphic design studio, specializing in creative small business branding as well as beautiful invitations and stylish stationery for weddings and events.
What did you do before starting your business in the wedding industry? I began my graphic design career in 2006 designing for both the private and government sectors. I’ve worked for a few small businesses in addition to working for the Army, Navy and Drug Enforcement Administration. The highlight of my career was designing the overall branding for the Medal of Honor for two years-which is the highest military honor awarded by the President of the United States. I am currently a Senior Graphic Designer for the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
How long have you been in the wedding industry? Since 2009
How would you describe your style? Clean, modern and elegant
What motivates you? I love what I do. I strive to make this process as simple and fun as possible. I’ve fallen in love with working with my clients, as their passion for creating the perfect design helps to fuel my creative fire.
Why should brides/grooms choose you? I’m professional and easy to work with.
How does your company define and measure success? My definition of success is independent of the requirements put on me. I know I have succeeded when I have accomplished my goal thoroughly, even if that means doing more than is asked. I always try to implement this philosophy, but I can always improve because that will ultimately make me better at what I do.
What do you enjoy most about your work? I get to be creative all day, every day.
Describe a proud moment while working in the wedding industry. Being published in Munaluchi only after a few months of joining!
What’s the best compliment you’ve received for your work? That it was amazing and over exceeded their expectations.
What are your business goals? To work in the wedding industry full time and ultimately have a large design studio in the Washington DC/Virginia area.
What’s your favorite part of the wedding industry? The invitations of course! It sets the tone for the event.
What’s your least favorite part of the wedding industry? The administrative side. If I could just design all day and never do anything admin related I would be in heaven.
Describe your vision of the “perfect” wedding. A wedding that utilized a lot of custom stationery products. Not just the invitations, but carry that into the day of stationery (programs, menus, favors) but also custom signage as well.
Where do you find the most inspiration? Fashion magazines and blogs.
