Romantic, ethereal, sophisticated yet timeless. These are all fitting descriptions for the couture creations of Sareh Nouri. Her wedding gowns evoke a sense of tranquility, but still manage to steal the spotlight. As a little girl, Sareh was infatuated with wedding gowns. So much that her Dad joked about this obsession during her own nuptials in 2009. It was during that time, that Sareh began designing wedding dresses. She just couldn’t find ‘the one’ – so she created it. In this interview, you’ll get to know more about the Iranian born designer plus some things you might now have known about her.
Where are you from?
I was born in Tehran, Iran. I spend my early childhood in Tehran and moved to the United States at the age of 9.
Tell us how you got into fashion design?
I always loved wedding dresses. I was obsessed. I designed my own dress for my wedding in 2009 and after that began my career as a marketing and director of sales for a high end wedding salon. After years of experience I started my line of dresses and sashes!
Describe the Sareh Nouri bride in three words.
She’s confident, alluring and effortlessly beautiful on the inside and out.
Your new collection is truly gorgeous! What was the inspiration?
I find inspiration in so many different things, most of the time when I am not even looking for it. A lot of my inspiration comes from Persian art from my Middle Eastern heritage, early bridal fashion, nature, and the soft, luxurious lace and fabrics used in my collections.
Is there a gown you like most in the new collection?
Each season I have a favorite style but it is so hard to answer this questions. These dresses become like your children, you can’t pick a favorite!!
Where can our brides find your newest collection?
We have several store locations throughout the US and Internationally. You can find the bridal salon nearest you by visiting our website www.sarehnouri.com/stores
Any wedding gown shopping advice for future brides?
A wedding gown is an emotional purchase. I always tell brides to do their research but stay open-minded. We must remember that just because the gowns look gorgeous in a magazine doesn’t mean that we will fall head over heels in love when we try one on. Pick the styles you like (sleeves or no sleeves, full or slim-fitting, trumpet), but it could change once you try them on! Be honest with your consultant regarding budget, and in the end you will benefit by finding “the one”.
What’s new for Sareh Nouri in 2015?
We have many new projects coming our way. Our expansion of our evening line and ready to wear. We just partnered with amazon.com for our ready to wear collection and I am very excited about that!
Tell us three things most people don’t know about you.
I was a gymnast
I used to do Persian calligraphy
