The Styled Stem was founded in 2019 after many years in the wedding industry executive flawless wedding day management. The company was started to answer the need for more vendors of color in the Philadelphia area, especially where planning & design are concerned. What did you do before starting your business in the wedding industry?
Prior to launching The Styled Stem I was -and still am- a seasoned Wedding Day Coordinator with Details Made Simple.
How long have you been in the wedding industry?
I have worked in the wedding & events industry for 10 years.
How would you describe your style?
Our style can be defined as elegant & timeless with a touch of simplicity.
What motivates you?
My father was an entrepreneur, an avid supporter of following your dreams. His unwavering support of me before he passed away and his words of encouragement that are still with me are my primary motivation. Second would be my desire to do something I love every day along with the final results of completely satisfied clients.

Why should brides/grooms choose you?
In an industry where there are so many talented vendors who seemingly offer the same services I always tell my clients that I will give them an experience that is unique to them and their love story. One of my key measures of success is the countless clients who found a friend in me throughout our working relationship that years later still reach out and want to keep me informed on their life. While I will always maintain the utmost professionalism, I will also foster a sense of trust so that any and every thought you may have about your wedding can be expressed freely. I will also set realistic expectations from our very first conversation and tell you when something is out of reach to ensure I won’t be someone who over-promises and under-delivers.
How does your company define and measure success?
Success at The Styled Stem looks like the smiling faces on “holiday cards” and personal notes on a “thank you” card from past clients. We strive to ensure that every client is completely satisfied with our service and solicit feedback along the way to make sure we always identify what works best not just for us but our clients.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
As much as I am a planner and like structure, I absolutely love the creative process of bringing my clients vision to life!
Describe a proud moment while working in the wedding industry.
I worked with a client early in my career who was completely overwhelmed by the thought of planning a wedding. She hired me and admitted in the beginning that she had no idea what she wanted, liked, or disliked and that she was only having a big wedding because of her mom. At the end of the wedding, not only was she hugging and thanking me for all that I did but her family, wedding party and guests were as well! Everyone was complimenting me on what they thought was the best wedding they’d ever attended. Typically, I try to be invisible once the party gets started so it’s easy to not be noticed, so the fact that my clients were so happy with me that they told their friends and family who I was super special to me. This was one of my first weddings ever and we are still in touch to this day!
What’s the best compliment you’ve received for your work?
Planning- “Working with you was like having a new best friend” Floral Design- “Your work is truly unique and simply beautiful.”
What are your business goals?
In the next 5 years, I would like the The Styled Stem to expand to other markets in the Tri-State area and also to have opened a storefront for our floral clients “The Stem Shoppe.” Our 10-year plan includes owning and operating a venue with in-house catering and design service in Philadelphia or the surrounding area.
What’s your favorite part of the wedding industry?
I genuinely enjoy the relationships built by working with other creative professionals. Whether it’s a photographer, another florist, a makeup artist, or hairstylist, the shared passion for serving our clients while doing something we love is the glue that forms an unwavering bond amongst us.
Where do you find the most inspiration?
While I love browsing Pinterest and the various wedding magazines, I find the most inspiration in my clients and their love story.
