What did you do before starting your business in the wedding industry? ‘
I was working in the Ophthalmology field as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician.
How long have you been in the wedding industry?
Around 4-5 years.
How would you describe your style?
Our style is one of convenience, sophistication, design & elegance.
What motivates you?
My daughter.
Why should brides/grooms choose you?
I will work tirelessly around the clock to make sure your wedding is all that you envisioned and more. I will stand with my couples every step of the way to help them make the best decisions that fit within their vision, budget, and who they are as a couple.
How does your company define and measure success?
We define success not by financial means and how many clients we have lined up for the year (even though they are the result of success) but true success is when we know that we have made all our choices with integrity that aligns with our values and ethics. When we have dealt with our clients with transparency, kept Christ and His standards our focal point, and made our clients and their close ones joyous.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
What I enjoy most about my work is getting to know my clients and planning a day that they and their close ones will remember for a lifetime. It is a time where I make relationships with my couples and become a person they can depend on, have confidence in, and know that I have their total best interest at heart when planning their special day.
Describe a proud moment while working in the wedding industry.
A proud moment I had while working in the wedding industry is being complimented on my execution and thought processes from other wedding vendors. I believe only our counterparts will understand the level of planning, detail and thought, producing an event takes- so having that recognition of my creativity from fellow vendors really makes me feel proud.
What’s the best compliment you’ve received for your work?
The best compliment I had is from the mother of a bride I worked with. Now, some mothers can be very difficult to please and impress. So I remember this like yesterday, one of our couples had to change their reception venue last minute due to the COVID restrictions on commercial spaces. We changed the reception to the bride’s parents’ backyard. Fast forward>>> when the mother came and saw the backyard for the first time she simply gasped and said “WOW”, now I knew I made a beautiful transformation
What are your business goals?
As of right now, my business goals are to expand my portfolio. I am pretty new to the industry, especially one that is quite saturated with amazing planners and designers who all have unique talents to offer. My goal is to build a clientele that will give us the privilege of creating beautiful and uniquely crafted events tailored for them.
What’s your favorite part of the wedding industry?
I love this question! Being a believer in Jesus Christ and His Word, I believe that marriage is one of the first institutions created by the Creator Himself. Therefore, it is a sacred one!”Hebrews 13:4, “Marriage is honorable among all and intends the marriage between a man and woman to last a lifetime”. My favorite part is that I get to do all the things I enjoy, planning, designing, building relationships, making things look great all whilst witnessing to one of the most sacred institutions instilled by the Creator Himself.
Where do you find the most inspiration?
I find the most inspiration from my experiences and my surroundings. I love the natural beauty of things and I only seek to enhance them. Every couple has something new to bring, whether it’s their personalities, experiences, hobbies, culture, it is something new. And I want to take those things and craft them into planning and designing weddings that reflect who they are and showcase the beauty of two individuals coming together as one.
Is there anything else you’d like our readers to know?
I am an alumna of Spelman College Class of 2014. I have volunteered with Peace Corps Nepal and have traveled to over 10 different countries. I was born in Trinidad and also produced my destination wedding there. Not only do I have a love for planning events, but I take my love of travel, culture, and people and craft them into my events/weddings.
