How would you describe your style?
Artistic style: I like to paint forms figuratively and use bold brush strokes and saturated hues and tones. I love the challenge of making the guest match their likeness. Colorful, detailed but impressionistic art that makes you smile.
What motivates you?
I am motivated by two things. The first is motherhood. Being a mom to two girls of color, I want to show them you can have a successful business and be a boss. The second thing that motivates me is God. I know this is my calling, I know this is what I am supposed to be doing every day. Knowing this keeps me inspired and ready to paint!
Why should brides/grooms choose you?
Brides and grooms should choose me because I am adding another dimension to their intimate setting that will stay in their hearts for years to come. It is very beautiful and my art will be an heirloom they pass down for years to come.
How does your company define and measure success?
I define success by being in this industry for nine years, being booked every weekend, and having faithful returning clients. I measure success by exceeding the goals I have set in place each quarter.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
My favorite part of the wedding industry is that no two weddings are the same. Each wedding has its own vibe and I love that. I enjoy the change-up. I also enjoy that at weddings you have fun! My job is fun!
Describe a proud moment while working in the wedding industry.
Realizing I am one of the few female African American live wedding artists in the states that have been doing this for over nine years.
What’s the best compliment you’ve received for your work?
The best compliment is when I get to see a family member or someone get excited when they see the art and smile at the development of the painting. That always makes me feel special and pumped up!
What are your business goals?
My business goals are to get better and better at painting details and capturing the moment and my biggest goal would be to travel. Traveling inspires me and I would love to travel and bring my talent to the world.
