After spending five years in banking, Nicole Byrd decided to pursue her lifelong passion for design and party planning by officially becoming an event designer.
Her company Byrd Nest Events and Design produces spectacular events that push boundaries and highlight client’s unique personalities. Nicole shares, “We believe in creating a total client experience. Describe your business.
We are a full-service Event Planning and Design company.
What did you do before starting your business in the wedding industry?
I was in banking for last 5 years and Customer Service for 13 years.
How long have you been in the wedding industry?
Technical I have been doing weddings for 5 years as a part time job, but January I started full-time.
How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as eclectic, fun, funky.
What motivates you?
I love seeing my clients face light up when they realize their dream wedding has come to life.
Why should brides/grooms choose you?
They should chose us because we believe in creating a total client experience. Everyone should have the same customer experience no matter what the budget is. We love showing you how to have your Rainbows and Unicorns.

How does your company define and measure success?
When a client turns into a friend that is the ultimate success.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I love the work. I like getting caught up in my work and before I know it, I have a beautiful space that has been transformed.
Describe a proud moment while working in the wedding industry.
My proudest moment is being published in Munaluchi Bridal magazine.
What’s the best compliment you’ve received for your work?
I recently did a wedding and the bride a very small budget. I still provided world class service. She told me her reception was more than she expected.
What are your business goals?
My goals are to have more business than I can hold.
I hope to hire two more assistants

What’s your favorite part of the wedding industry?
The collaboration and friendships that are built.
Where do you find the most inspiration?
I find my inspiration from flowers. The shape, colors, and sizes. I also get my inspiration from my clients. I try to get to know my clients and I capture their essence.
Is there anything else you’d like our readers to know?
I got my interest in design from my late mother. Every month she was redesigning our living room. I called what my mother had as “the gift.” My mom had it, my brother has it, and so do I. My sister does not have it lol
