In 2010, when Edmund nervously walked into a job interview, he did not know he was about to meet the love of his life. Fate would have it that his future wife Tammy served on his interview panel. Although Edmund was incredibly anxious, he made a great impression. He was hired and immediately assigned to work on one of Tammy’s projects.
After spending day’s together working on one particular project, it was clear to Tammy that Edmund wanted more than a friendship. Tammy always found a way to get around Edmund’s inquires into whether she was free after work. Tammy recalls, “It wasn’t that I didn’t think that Edmund was a great catch. He was… Smart. Handsome. Cute socks, and all. I just wasn’t particularly interested in starting anything new at the time, especially given our work relationship. But he was persistent.” One night while working late, Tammy and Edmund innocently decided to grab something to eat and they talked for hours. It was the beginning of their lives together.
In December of 2013, Edmund surprised Tammy with a romantic holiday proposal. They decided to team up with KBobb Photography for a laid-back and intimate DC engagement session that had a natural vibe. Their love and beautiful personalities are captured in every photo. The Proposal
When Edmund and I started dating in 2011, we didn’t have a plan for the future. Somewhere in the middle, God intervened and set us on a path toward marriage. Edmund proposed on December 21, 2014. We had planned to travel to North Carolina that day to celebrate Christmas with my family. But we started our day with a brunch date in DC at one of favorite places. As we got on the road, we quickly realized we would be a little late for the dinner. When we finally arrived, dinner was wrapping up. We rushed in, had dinner, and began to enjoy the time with my family. Immediately, Edmund stepped outside to retrieve his “glasses” from the car. When he returned, we were just beginning to exchange gifts. After a few exchanges, Edmund stepped outside again “to get some air.” A few minutes went by before he asked me to join him.
Edmund and I walked around my Uncle’s property that evening, just enjoying a moment alone. He began to share his love for me and my family. Moments later as we returned to the front of the house, he was on one bended knee with a beautiful ring in hand asking me to share a life with him! I said “YES!” and we rejoined my family inside surprising them with the news!
The Engagement Session
For our engagement session, we wanted a really natural vibe for our pictures. We didn’t really have a theme. But we wanted to tell our simple story of love and showcase our personalities, the fun we have, and the joy we experience with each other. There were several locations that we considered, the monuments of DC, downtown in the city, etc. But in the end, we chose the locations that were meaningful to us as a couple and allowed Kirth (our photographer) to work his magic. We chose to be close to home starting out at the Mount Vernon Trail and ending in our neighborhood in Pentagon City, VA.
From our first location, a panorama view of Washington, DC, the Potomac River, and the Washington, National Airport can be seen. This outdoor location was perfect to capture our first look, which was really natural, relaxed, and fun! Kirth climbed trees and stood on rocks, while we had fun watching planes, climbing picnic tables and blowing and catching kisses! We moved to our neighborhood for the second location, and captured our second and third looks. These looks were romantic, intimate and infused with love. Kirth was able to capture stunning photos in ordinary places creatively and display the love we share for each with everyone to see!
