Leslie and Eric wanted their engagement session to represent their lives after the big day. They headed to Savannah, GA where the couple plans to live after saying “I do.” “We wanted our photographer to highlight in the photos some of the history and beauty of Savannah while also embodying what Eric and I stand for which is two down to Earth people who love one another,” Leslie shares. To capture their down-to-Earth love, the pair stopped at the Forsyth Park area during the day and the city market for more formal night life photos. Take a look at their intimate outdoor engagement session photographed by Brooks Photography.

What did you do on your first date?
Eric and I had been long distance for over 2 years before he proposed. When we first started dating, I lived in Tampa, Fl and he lived in Savannah. After talking on the phone everyday for a month, Eric invited me to Atlanta to see his friend compete in a body building competition. It was around Fourth of July weekend and I didn’t have to work. So I decided to fly to Atlanta to accompany him to the competition. When he picked me up from the airport, we had dinner at a nice restaurant in downtown and then we went to the rooftop bar of the Hilton hotel downtown and had cocktails, conversation and laughter until our cheeks hurt.
What are your favorite things to do as a couple?
We love to watch sports (especially football), eat hot wings, and root for our favorite teams. We also enjoy traveling to different cities and states that we’ve never been to and learn about it’s history. Lastly, we enjoy going to listen to live music and sometimes we love sitting on the couch with a good movie and popcorn.
How has wedding planning been thus far?
Wedding planning thus far has been one of the most exciting yet stressful things I have ever done. Neither one of us are in the place of where we’re getting married. So we have an amazing wedding planner Krista Clark with SugarRock Events who has been handling things on our behalf when we can’t be there. It’s been difficult at times to coordinate our schedules to both be in Huntsville for tastings, fittings, etc. However, planning an event where you get to marry the love of your life and then celebrate it with loved ones is an experience not to be taken lightly. I want it to be an event people will always remember because they felt the love that Eric and I have for each other and for them on that day.
What are you looking forward to the most on your wedding day?
I’m mostly looking forward to seeing Eric’s face at the end of the aisle knowing that he’s the man that God prepared just for me. And being surrounded by my family and friends to help us celebrate with good food, champagne toasts, and dancing is just the icing on the cake.
