After meeting at a holiday rooftop party and reconnecting on match.com years later, Antonio McMillian, a science teacher gave Autum McMillian, a social worker, quite the unusual and equally special proposal. The two exchanged vows in a small summer wedding in Sugarland, making the city even more more sweet that night.

Tell us about how you met and all about the proposal!
Initially, we met on the 4th of July on the rooftop of a parking garage while watching fireworks.We lost touch and reconnected on match.com three years later. The proposal was not what I expected. We recently met with a new home sales counselor and in the meeting, Antonio mentioned that he had a new credit card that he paid monthly on. After this meeting, I asked him what credit card he was referring to. He looked at me and smiled.
He got up and walked to the closet, returning with a box that had a ribbon on it and handed it to me. He said with a smile, “This is the reason for my new credit card that you weren’t supposed to find out about.” I opened the box and pulled out a small box. I opened the small box and to my surprise, there was a beautiful ring inside. He took the ring, got on one knee and asked, “Autum, will you allow me to spend the rest of my life making you happy? Will you marry me?” It was so unexpected and I loved it.
Wedding Style
Dress shopping was intimidating at first but I unexpectedly found my dress the first time I went out shopping. I went with my mom, maid & matron of honor, godsons, and nephew from store to store. Our last stop was David’s Bridal where I found my dress. I experienced the “knowing” feeling I had always heard about. Once I put it on, I knew I wanted it. My wedding dress was a sweetheart, mermaid style dress with sheer beading. The bottom has layers of tulle. It immediately made me feel like I was walking on clouds!
Memories
My best memory of the wedding was walking down the aisle, being escorted by my big brother and being surrounded by our loving friends and family. Seeing my husband smiling at the altar, waiting for me. I surprisingly was not nervous at all. I took it all in and was overwhelmed with happiness and was truly blessed.

Make sure all vendors are on the same page and they understand your expectations. Expect things to not go exactly as planned. Don’t get stressed out and have fun planning your wedding! A coordinator is highly recommended!

Awesome video memories, don’t know the couple but I wish them many years of happiness and success. On the days of mistakes and mishaps, I pray for forgiveness, understanding and letting it go. We need more couples to stay in it for the long haul. Last time I checked, when there is a long haul, there are bumps along the way. The bumps just allow up to be out of place for a moment but signature lines of a long lasing relationship is “I’m sorry I was just thinking of myself, forgive me, my love” Learn the true lessons of love in the midst of misunderstanding…………..
