Venture deeper into love, culture, and history on the beautiful islands of St. Kitts and Nevis.
A tropical getaway with soft sandy beaches, lush green rainforests, and fascinating historical sites are just a few notable features of this dual-island nation.
Located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, St. Kitts’ diverse topography fosters intrigue and adventure (or peace and solitude, if you prefer) around every corner!
Back in 2023, I was able to experience the beauty of St. Kitts and Nevis firsthand. The overwhelming warmth of Kittitian hospitality was indescribable, the views are breathtaking, and don’t get me started about the food…
Overall, St. Kitts and Nevis is an excellent destination for couples looking to say “I do,” enjoy their honeymoon, spice things up with adventure, or escape for some much-needed relaxation.
We’ve created this helpful destination wedding guide to help you plan your dream nuptials in St. Kitts and Nevis.
From legal logistics to choosing your perfect wedding venue and on-island wedding vendors, I invite you to venture deeper and experience the hospitality and warmth of this gorgeous Caribbean destination!
- Destination: St. Kitts and Nevis
- Location: The West Indies
The logistics: How to get married in St. Kitts & Nevis?
Before thinking of getting married in any Caribbean destination, there are a few things to consider. This includes legalities and wedding documentation. Luckily, citizens of the United States and Canada looking to get married in St. Kitts or Nevis don’t have too much to worry about.
Legal requirements include:
- a valid passport
- an original birth certificate
- an affidavit of single status
The Tourist Board recommends having actual documents over PDFs to ensure a seamless process. Additionally, couples must be in the country for at least two days (48 hours) to process their marriage license.
Our on-island tour guide in Nevis, Pheon Jones (Director of Sales and Marketing of Nevis Tourism Authority), advised couples to spend 3 days on the island. Which, if you’re tying the knot one day and celebrating for multiple days before or after your wedding, this doesn’t seem too hard!
For same-sex couples, legal marriage ceremonies are not yet recognized; however, there are other options to consider.
Many couples from the LGBTQ+ community choose to host a symbolic ceremony or reception honoring their nuptials instead. Skipping a “legal ceremony” on the island is a pro tip for couples that don’t want to go through the legal hassles of saying “I do” in another country.
Setting the Date: What are the best days to say “I do”?
Everyday is an amazing day to get married in St. Kitts and Nevis.
– Jermaine Arthurton (Wedding Coordinator at Four Seasons Nevis)
St. Kitts and Nevis are notably very religious nations. According to locals, Sundays on the island tend to be pretty vacant. This makes it a great day for weddings. However, if a Sunday wedding isn’t your style, that’s okay.
Wedding Coordinator Jermaine Arthurton of Four Seasons Nevis suggests having multi-day wedding celebrations from Friday to Sunday and tying the knot on Saturday.
This leaves room to relax leading up to the big day and adds extra time to unwind and enjoy the island after. It also gives enough time for any legal documents to be processed.
When setting the date, it’s also important to pay attention to the time of year.
According to US News and The Planet D Travel Blog, the best time to visit St. Kitts and Nevis is in May and June. During this time, many hotels and resorts lower their rates to entice more travelers in the off-season which also makes accommodations more budget-friendly for weddings. However, the most popular time to visit is from December to April during the National Carnival.
Keep in mind Hurricane season runs from July to November. Take extra caution when planning milestone events during those months.
Venues + Accommodations: Where to wed and stay in St. Kitts & Nevis
There are ample venues and accommodations available on both islands for all budgets and styles. Ranging from luxurious resort-style lodging to more intimate, boutique options, couples will find themselves at home no matter where they choose to wed. And, with two islands to choose from, there are even more options.
#1. Park Hyatt: A luxurious, romantic escape, with a perfect view of Nevis
The Park Hyatt St. Kitts is a luxurious beachfront getaway perfect for couples or families celebrating milestone occasions. It also features a stunning view of Nevis!
Fitted with contemporary decor and sleek designs, the resort also offers various activities and wellness programs, including a full-service spa, and some of the best restaurants in St. Kitts.
Enjoy an all-day oceanfront dining experience at the Great House (I highly recommend the pumpkin soup!), head to the Stone Barn for an adults-only fine dining experience, and enjoy fresh catches of the day in island-inspired cuisines at Fisherman’s Village.
Guests can also enjoy light bites at either one of the resort’s two pools, order in-room dining, or even schedule an intimate “destination dining” experience anywhere on the resort.
In each room, guests will find contemporary decor, soaking tubs (just the right size for two!), and more gorgeous views of the Caribbean Sea.
Couples looking to elevate their stay even further can reserve one of the resort’s suites. Many of these exclusive rooms offer two bedrooms, individual pools, and private sundecks.
Find out more about Park Hyatt’s room and suite options here.
#2. The Spice Mill: Versatile venue with excellent views, great food, and cocktails
- Capacity: 150 – 160 people | Rooftop: 40/50
- Great for: rehearsal dinners + wedding celebrations
We have the topography with a central mountain range. Every angle is a view [in St. Kitts].
– Roger Brisbane | Owner of The Spice Mill
A short walk from the Park Hyatt is the beloved restaurant: The Spice Mill. Located directly on Cockleshell Beach, the restaurant is a versatile venue for ceremonies, rehearsal dinners, and wedding celebrations.
While dining in the open-air hall, enjoy views of Nevis Peak in the distance and the ambiance of waves gently caressing the shoreline.
Highlights of the space include Passion Beach Bar’s custom cocktails (made with local rum from a distillery on the property!), the Blue Caribe Rooftop Bar, fresh culinary creations, and unobscured views of Nevis Peak in the distance.
Owner of The Spice Mill and Hibiscus Rum, Roger Brisbane, describes the restaurant’s menu as “eclectic Caribbean.” Each traditional dish is boldly flavored with modern twists. For your wedding or reception menu, he recommends the Wahu ceviche, crispy shrimp, lobster and crab fritters, and salmon shrimp dumplings.
#3. Four Seasons Resort Nevis: Perfect for low-key couples
Following a quick 10-minute water taxi from St. Kitt’s to its partner island, Nevis, couples can experience an intimate escape at the Four Seasons Nevis.
From your first step off the boat, the property exudes intimacy and romance. Since opening its doors in 1991, the Four Seasons Nevis has provided 33 years of luxurious hospitality to guests near and far.
The resort boasts 189 rooms, 3 main pools, a variety of restaurants to dine in, and even makes its own bespoke rum! Set on 350 acres, the property allows for ample privacy and one-of-a-kind venues to choose from.
From outdoor historical sites to fairytale ballrooms and private beachside venues, the Four Seasons Nevis has a location for every couple to fall in love with. In no particular order, here are some of the top spots to wed at the Four Seasons Nevis.
Robert Trent Jones II Golf Course (The 18th Lawn):
- Capacity: 200 – 500 guests
- Great for: large outdoor weddings
If you’re looking for a space to host a larger wedding (or maybe you just LOVE golf!), the Robert Trent Jones II golf course may be the perfect venue option for you.
Capable of hosting 200 – 500 people, this outdoor venue features stunning views of the island of St. Kitts in the distance, lush green gardens, and the Caribbean Sea.
Following your ceremony, enjoy a romantic evening reception on The 18th Lawn!
The Sugar Mill:
- Capacity: 25 – 50 people
- Great for: intimate elopements, ceremonies, or receptions
Overlooking the resort along the Robert Trent Jones II Golf Course, an authentic Sugar Mill still stands. Brimming with history, couples will fall in love with this intimate venue. A well-manicured lawn and garden beside the sugar mill is perfect for a quaint wedding ceremony or reception.
The Mahogany Hill Estates (Le Mangabey 1912):
- Capacity: 50 guests
- Great for: small celebrations + bridal suite
Known as “The Monkey Villa” for its many monkey symbols sprinkled throughout, Le Mangabey 1912 at The Mahogany Hill Estates is an intimate getaway nestled amidst the tallest palm trees with incredible views of the surrounding islands and Nevis Peak.
Due to its limited capacity, only a few couples have wed here. However, with wraparound sliding glass doors leading out to a pool, a veranda, and a barbeque pavilion with seating for 12, this spot is perfect for use as a pre-wedding bridal suite or for a chic poolside reception.
The Hamilton Room:
- Capacity: 150 to 170 people (maximum 300)
- Great for: mid-sized weddings or receptions
The Wedding Coordinator at Four Seasons Nevis, Jermaine Arthurton, described the Hamilton Room as “a little less flash, with an old-school mentality.” Exploring the venue, he couldn’t be more spot-on.
Radiating natural light, white beams, and deep oak wood floors, the Hamilton Room’s multi-functional space boasts timeless glamour. Large glass doors and windows provide sweeping views of the island oasis outside while your guests can stay cool indoors.
Connected to two outdoor patios overlooking the Limin’ Pool and Pinney’s Beach, couples can enjoy a dreamy evening reception under the stars or keep things inside and have their guests indulge in the resort’s delicious food and bespoke rum served at the restaurant next door.
South Beach:
- Max occupancy: 400 guests
- Great for: authentic Caribbean weddings
Known as one of the resort’s most popular wedding spots, South Beach is the perfect beachside “blank canvas” for bringing your dream wedding to life.
Whether saying “I do” or celebrating with loved ones under a canopy at sunset, this secluded and totally “toes on the sand” venue gives a truly authentic Caribbean wedding experience.
Unlike other beaches, the location also features volcanic sand. This is a helpful note for brides who don’t want to abandon their stilettos (even on the beach!) as the ground is firm enough to comfortably walk on. Nevertheless, Arthurton encourages brides to “embrace barefoot luxury.”
#4. Carambola Beach Club: Elegant dining with sweeping views
Located on South Friar’s Bay in St. Kitts, Carambola Beach Club is one of the most celebrated restaurants on the island and offers fine dining paired with beautiful ocean views. The hacienda-stye estate is also a lovely venue for laid-back daytime rehearsal dinners, beachside weddings, and elegant evening receptions. Learn more about hosting your event at the Carambola Beach Club here.
#5. St. George’s Anglican Church: A traditional wedding venue steeped in history
St. George’s Anglican Church is the largest church on the island. Once the site of religious turmoil, today, the Anglican Church still stands proudly representing the enduring faith of Anglican worshipers on the island.
Couples seeking a more traditional wedding venue will appreciate the preservation of the building’s architecture, stone exterior, and well-manicured lawn. Inside features colorful stained glass windows, rows of wooden pews, and an original organ from 1872 which is still playable to this day!
#6. Golden Rock Inn: A colorful jungle escape for modern couples
Situated 1,000 feet above sea level in Nevis, the Golden Rock Inn is a chic bohemian escape for modern couples seeking an eclectic and colorful venue for their wedding or honeymoon.
The beautiful 40-acre property is owned by New York artists Helen and Brice Marden. Working with Miami-based designer Raymond Jungles (who designed the luscious gardens experienced throughout Golden Rock), their creative team seamlessly melds history with modern design.
In every space on the property, guests will discover carefully curated furniture and decor in vibrant hues, sprinkled with modern artworks, set against the ancient stone walls of 19th-century buildings (including a Sugar Mill – which couples can stay in!). Quaint cottages are another charming option to choose from.
Take a closer glimpse at some of Golden Rock’s offerings and accommodations below.
Paradise Cottage:
Painted in vibrant red hues, Paradise Cottage is a lovely option for couples seeking a charming abode to spend their time in.
The interior’s white walls are decorated with just the right amount of color. An artist’s eye picks up on the careful play between complimentary red and green shades throughout the room. It is a pleasing space that elicits joy, warmth, and a cozy atmosphere.
The Sugar Mill:
Towering over much of the property, the two-story 19th-century Sugar Mill is one of the most unique accommodations in the Caribbean. From the master bedroom on the 2nd floor, couples can enjoy gorgeous views of the entire island.
The Sugar Mill is also ideal for privacy and boasts an oversized queen bed upstairs with a full bath and two twin beds with a sitting area, a writing desk, and a second bathroom on the first floor. A private patio is the icing on top!
The Rocks:
The Rocks restaurant offers romantic al fresco dining under the stars and is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner to both hotel guests and visitors. With luscious gardens and a modern pool, it’s also a lovely backdrop for a poolside wedding or an evening cocktail reception.
#7. Belle Mont Sanctuary Resort: Elegant sophistication for the eco-conscious couple
If you’re seeking a truly unique, eco-friendly, and authentic Kittitian experience, you will love everything about Belle Mont Sanctuary Resort. Located on the slopes of Mt. Liamuiaga, this organic resort features gorgeous guesthouses and villas designed by world-renowned architect, Bill Bensley.
Couples can enjoy breathtaking views of the sea right from their rooms, take a swim together in their very own private infinity pool, and experience an al fresco bathroom to fully immerse themselves in nature.
At Belle Mont, savor authentic West Indian cuisines.
Each restaurant on the property features dishes carefully prepared by talented resident chefs using straight-off-the-farm ingredients. For instance, fruits, vegetables, and herbs are grown right on Belle Mont Farm at Kittitian Hill. Meats and fresh-caught fish are sourced from local Kittician farmers and fishermen.
Onsite dining options (which are equally great locations for smaller weddings and celebrations) include The Mill Bar, The Mountain Terrace, the lounge, and the lower level and outdoor terrace called The Lookout.
Belle Mont’s Farm-To-Table experience is truly one-of-a-kind.
Dining family-style in the elegant atmosphere of The Farmhouse, we enjoyed an incredibly tasty Kittitian spread made from the freshest island-grown ingredients. As a special treat, we were able to meet the culinary artist behind the menu, one of Belle Mont’s resident chefs: Chef Renaldo Mills.
Training under various chefs in St. Kitts, Mills prides himself on only using locally sourced ingredients. Creating an entirely new menu for us from scratch, we were surprised to learn all of his creations were imagined straight from his head. His intuitive culinary insight is unmatched.
When crafting your wedding menus, make sure to ask for Chef Mills or consult with one of the many talented resident chefs working at Belle Mont Farm.
For additional food and beverage resources at Kittitian Hill, speak with Arthur (The Food and Beverage Manager of The Kitchen restaurant), and General Manager Eustace Guishard. Passionate about customer service, great food, and quality vibes, they will be happy to assist you.

Sunset Reef’s Director of Operations, Alex Norbert, elaborated on the many eco-conscious efforts happening on the property including the use of geothermal technology to create natural energy throughout the resort.
The resort uses natural energy to heat water sources across the property including the laundry room, dishwashers, showers, and their gorgeous outdoor infinity pool. Air conditioning in each room and suite can also be powered by this source.

While destination weddings continue to lean into minimalism, Oloughlin takes the creative challenge and strives to add an extra touch of opulence to everything they do.
When asked what is the best part of working on the island, she explained, “I would say the uniqueness. If you look at a map, we are a dot in the middle of the ocean. We’re one-of-one. Beyond wedding day production, Sunlinc recognizes a big part of destination weddings and events is the wedding party. And many guests want to explore the island in their leisure time.
To take the pressure off of the newlyweds to plan every excursion, a unique service offered by Sunlinc is creating custom wedding websites for wedding groups.
