Jasmin & De’Andre first became acquainted over Tinder where they swiped right into each other’s heart. With each conversation revealing how much in common they shared, it wasn’t long before their feelings for the other began to take the shape of love. A first date over tea and hors d’oeuvres would only continue to strengthen those feelings, and confirm their belief that their connection was something rare and special. Featured in the Winter 2019 issue of MunaLuchi Bride magazine, and expertly captured by MunaLuchi Coterie member Stanlo Photography, this stunning engagement session highlights the couple’s love for travel and the natural beauty of nature.

How They Met: We met on December 7, 2013, on the dating application, Tinder. The concept of Tinder is to view the profile pictures and personal biographies of potential suitors, swipe left if you are not interested, and swipe right if you are interested in chatting with them. Thankfully that day, we both happened to swipe right! That one action lead to many funny, interesting, exciting conversations and FaceTime calls spanning subjects such as travel, hobbies, professions, dreams, and goals to name a few.
The Proposal: April 2018 would prove to be a very special month for us. Unbeknownst to Jasmin what was supposed to be just another one of our adventures together, I was actually planning to propose to Jasmin in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jasmin planned a fun filled few days in Las Vegas for us, all while I was secretly planning an unforgettable last night in Las Vegas that would melt Jasmin’s heart. Calling upon many of Jasmin’s best friends, I invited them to Vegas for the proposal. With support and love from a host of family members and friends I proposed to Jasmin the night of April 15, 2018 in the Linq promenade. Complete with a serenade, photographers, her best friends surprising her, hosts of strangers surrounding us, beautiful bright lights from the nearby water fountain and the observatory called the high roller, I dropped to one knee and asked Jasmin Miller for her hand in marriage. The moment was magical and very much like a fairytale. Jasmin with tears in eyes, and joy in her heart said “YES” to my proposal.
Describe your engagement session. We love to travel! We both travel for work, and we often travel for pleasure . When thinking of a location for our engagement shoot we had a long list of destinations on our bucket list. We fell in love with the Bonneville Salt Flats from pictures we have seen online. Considering the vast amount of space and natural beauty of the flats including the surrounding mountains, white salt, weather, and sky we figured this destination would give us a lot to work with. The Utah terrain just seemed like a perfect choice for us! Our theme was simple. We wanted the looks to be vibrant, whimsical, and magical.
What did you do on your first date? We went on our first date to Tryst coffee shop in Washington D.C., where we sipped on tea and dined on lite bites. We talked and laughed for hours.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? Our love for travel has been the theme of our entire relationship. We both truly love to explore new places, new foods, cultures, and experiences.
How has wedding planning been so far? Wedding planning can be stressful at times, but we have learned we work best as a team and to divide and conquer the many tasks.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day. We are looking forward to exchanging our vows and celebrating our love for one another with our family and friends!
