Read all about Jasmine & Ben’s love story, proposal, and experiences in their modern garden wedding in Pasadena.
Bride & Groom: Jasmine & Ben
Occupations: Full-Time Mother & NBA Basketball Player
Wedding date: 7-8-18
Wedding location: The Langham Huntington Hotel, Pasadena, CA
Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. I pretty much got set up and tricked into a blind date! Our best friends at the time were friends and thought we would be perfect for each other. It’s safe to say they were right!
The proposal was private and heartfelt. Ben is a private and quite person so anything else wouldn’t have been authentic. After the restaurant closed, he reminisced on our love story and asked for it to never end.
Describe your wedding attire. Modern, yet romantic. Jasmine wanted a ceremony dress that was more romantic, and a reception dress that was more fitted and easier to move in.
What was the wedding shopping experience like for you? Jasmine found her dress in Memphis, TN while finding her reception dress at Kinsley Couture in West Hollywood, CA. The process was overall fairly easy to find a dress that she felt beautiful and comfortable in.
Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding? Jasmine & Ben chose a traditional ceremony, but wanted to incorporate their 1 year old daughter during the ceremony. They brought the important kids in their lives up during the middle of the ceremony for a special moment together.
Ceremony entrance song: The Bridal party walked into a classical rendition of “Human Nature” by Michael Jackson and classical version of “This Woman’s Work” by Maxwell which was specially arranged a classical harp and violin duo.
First dance song: “At your Best” by Aaliyah
What is your best memory from your wedding? Definitely that first moment that Jasmine appeared at the top of the aisle. It was a moment that they were both looking forward too for the past year. They didn’t do any first-look photos, so that made the moment all the more special.
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples? Stay focused on each other that day and put each other first throughout the process and on the wedding day. In the end the two of you is all that matters!
