Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. Never in a million years did we ever think that we would be talking after our first night meeting. We argued the whole night about our colleges being better than the other. Terrance went to Texas Southern University and Jennifer went to Prairie View A&M University. After exchanging numbers, two weeks of nonstop phone calls, and text messages we went on our first date to Raw Sushi and the rest was history. After three years of dating, with the help of Jennifer’s girlfriends, Terrance planned the perfect proposal…
All of Jennifer’s friends planned the perfect outing for the bride to be at Sharky’s in Kingwood, so she could spend time with them before going out with Terrance for her birthday dinner later that night. Little did she know she wasn’t going out. After having a light lunch, she and her friends went to their home to find out Terrance had a Mexican Fiesta planned in her honor. Every year Jennifer always tells Terrance what she wants for her birthday and this year was no different, so she thought. Not being the best cook, Jennifer wanted cookware and cooking classes for her birthday. Something she wanted to master. But Terrance had other things in mind. When it came time to give gifts, Terrance presented Jennifer with a box wrapped in Tiffany Blue and silver paper. Being a know it all, she thought she knew what was in the box and tore the paper off with delight. As the box opened, a balloon ring popped out and Terrance got down on one knee and proposed to Jennifer in front of friends and family. She happily said YES!
What was wedding dress shopping like for you? When picking my dress I wanted it to be traditional to please my mom and grandmother but also something different. I actually went to different places, but when I went to the bridal extravaganza and the bridal consultant from Winnie Couture remembered me I knew that I had to go back. I was trying to decide between three different dresses. My little cousin showed everyone my dress while I was in the fitting room and told them this would be my dress and she was right, it was love at first sight. I can honestly say Winnie Couture gave me the best bridal experience.
Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding? With our wedding we wanted to start our own traditions which didn’t make my mom happy but in the end she liked every minute of it. For example, we wanted our wedding unplugged. Instead of doing unity candles we did a unity cross.

What is your favorite memory from your wedding? Our favorite memory from our wedding is that July 7th is an important day because we have family and friends who have birthdays on this day. We stopped the wedding to present them with Crave Birthday cake flavored cupcakes to celebrate their special day. They could have been anywhere else but they choose to be there with us which made our day so much more special.
