Tell us about how you met and all about the proposal. Jermaine and Josanne were both born in Trinidad. In 1998, they attended the same high school and soon became really good friends. Josanne and her family moved to the United States in the year 2000 and Jermaine stayed in Trinidad with his family. They wanted to continue their friendship and wrote each other letters for a while but eventually the communication slowly stopped. In 2004, Jermaine moved to the United States. At that time, Josanne was a college student at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. Out of the blue, she received a call from Jermaine telling her that he had recently moved to Brooklyn, NY. Josanne was happy Jermaine was a little closer and the physical distance that once separated them seemed to shrink. Jermaine would call from time to time but Josanne wasn’t the type of person who liked talking on the phone. In the summer of 2005, Josanne was home from college. Her mother had mentioned going to Brooklyn, NY and Josanne decided to tag along. She called Jermaine to let him know that she planned on visiting Brooklyn and they agreed to meet up. A few hours later, she arrived in Brooklyn and they saw each other for the first time in five years. Josanne had butterflies! Jermaine was all grown up and very handsome. Josanne liked what she saw (hunny chile!) and quickly invited him to the the event she came to Brooklyn for with her mother. From that day forward, their relationship continued to blossom. After 12 years, they have many wonderful memories, they share a handsome son and they are ready to make a lifelong commitment before God. Thanks be to God for his continued blessings in their lives. Jermaine proposed at Josanne’s work on our anniversary 07/17/2017.
